As a French citizen living in the USA, I have to object to #7.
I've seen more "designer everything" since I've been here (2.5 years) than I have in my entire life in France. But then we won't wear Prada shoes with cargo shorts

OMG! This is hilarious! My british MIL will call me and start talking at a normal level and by the end she is practically whispering while I'm going "WHAT????? NO REALLY, WHAT DID YOU SAY AGAIN???? HELLO????" 
What's wrong with wearing tennis shoes with everything. Isn't that what they were made for?

Number 7 with the fanny packs prepared for anything got me. That's my parents to a tee. Map, poncho, fanny pack, water and snacks. I've heard that we smile a lot as well. Europeans and even more so, Russians do not smile. I don't smile either, maybe I should switch nationalities.
