I learned something about coil wicking

I have not found any information like this, so I figured I would post up something which I found.
Geek Vape Aegis Legend 200w mod with a Alpha tank. On a fresh coil, I found that the silicone seals were so good, they would not let the wicking action to take place. So after assembling a fresh coil, and adding juice, I let it sit. ** I leave the flip cap off to the side, and it seems to let the coil wick so much better, and completely. If I left it closed, and sitting there for an hour, it still didn't wick into the coil.

Dunno, just found this out trying to figure why I was getting a burn start.

You want to fill the tank and let it sit for 20 minutes or so with a new coil. Then start at a lower wattage, take some puffs, and bump the wattage a few watts and repeat. It’s called breaking in a new coil. Good luck.

I haven't used factory coils in years, but they look much the same as the ones I used. My eGo coil heads used to come with a silicone cap covering the bottom. We removed the cap from a new atomizer, filled the cap halfway with juice. and inserted the coil head back into the cap. After it sat for 15 or 20 minutes the cotton was completely saturated and there were no dry hits when we fired up and vaped.

The Alpha coil has lots of ports around the sides, so it should be easier to fill. Still, if you can find a silicone cap that fits it will give you full saturation quickly on a new coil. Sometimes, a coil looks saturated, but the inner cotton is still dry.

Good observation. Never really put it together, but now that you mention it my Geekvape Zeus X does saturate a lot faster with the top cap off. If it's already saturated it'll flood when I neglect to put the top cap back on immediately after filling.
