So I recently got into rebuilding and dripping, and was given a sample of an ekowool wick from my local B&M. I use my trident clone and nimbus clone on my MVP 2 because I like the extra layer of protection with the circuitry. I use right around 8.5 watts.

I made 2 different coils: one with 3mm silica wick with 30G kanthal wire, and the other with 3mm silica braided ekowool. The winner hands down with flavor and amount of vapor is the ekowool. This stuff is incredible!!! I'm blowing clouds as big if not bigger than some of the sub ohm'ers out there. I am beyond impressed with the ekowool. The only downside is that it's pretty pricey compared to 35 cents a foot, but to me it's so well worth it, and it's still cheaper than analogs. If you haven't tried it, give it a shot it'll change your life :)

It is just braided silica, but it wicks so well. I use the 2mm stuff and it's perfect. You never get a dry hit! (Well you can if you try, but you have to chuff and chuff and chuff to get there). It must be something to do with the surface area of the braid, but it really does soak up that juice and wick it onto the coil so very well, with heaps of flavour and vapour.

Silica is ridiculously heat resistant. RIDICULOUSLY. Cotton burns a lot easier than silica and this is why you get a dry hit. Even if there's not a ton of juice on the wick, it still won't taste burnt or nasty. Love silica.
