Between my GF and I, we currently have the Vamo, VTR, King, Hammer, and EAMod mods.
They're all great in their own ways...
I loved the EA, but once I got the King there was no turning back. I absolutely love it, especially with the Tiaifun or Russian on it.
So - my GF took over daily use of the EA mod, but it's acting weird and it isn't one of the issues I've read about so frequently (loosening side-fire button, hot button, etc.):
While the button does understandably get hot when chain vaping, the mod now suddenly stops working. I don't know if the heat is causing contacts to move too far apart? It seems that you can get it to fire if you really press down hard on the button - but it doesn't seem normal or correct.
What I'd like to do is simply convert it to the bottom-fire method and remove the side fire altogether, but the button by itself is close to $90 (half the price of the mod...).
So - it seems to me that I should first try polishing up the contacts to see if that helps, but I'm not sure what I should polish with? Is there anything lying around the average house that will work or do I need special materials?
If I *do* decide to convert to the bottom-fire, is there another switch that will fit the threads on this mod that anyone knows of, or am I going to have to fork out the $90 to buy a new button? At that point it seems better to spend another $90 and get another mod that doesn't suffer the lack-luster brass connections.
Any thoughts for this frustrated vaper?
Thanks -
