Don't know if there is anyone else out there who has decided to vape in their late 50's? I smoked 35 years ago....was smoking two packs a day when I quit cold turkey. I have never regretted quitting although I always enjoyed the act of smoking, just couldn't justify the health hazards, expense, smell, etc. My kids are now 29 and 31 and both of the vape. I was intrigued and asked to try my daughter's.... Well, ended up in a vape store while visiting her and the rest is history! I am using 0 mg, flavored juices and am actually hiding it from my husband (he was never a smoker and I'm afraid he would think I've slipped off the deep end). I have been reading up on the health issues involved with this - nothing is healthier than fresh air but I have to admit I really enjoy the sensation of smoking. I hope I'm not alone here - - sometimes I think I'm going crazy:)

Hello, bjbach, and welcome to the forum! I started vaping at 57, but did that to quit smoking, which I did. I would venture to say that 99% of everyone here started vaping to eliminate or at least cut down on tobacco use. There are some who never smoked who love to vape for the flavors. And it's true that vaping isn't as healthy as plain old air, but if it satisfies a need, and it's not harming you, then have fun! At least you're not smoking and trying to hide it. I remember those days and how ridiculous that is even trying to cover up that stink. You might want to break it to your husband eventually as vaping itself can turn into a fun obsession, and might be a little difficult to hide when that happens. How do I know this? :D

Yes, you are going crazy and you are not alone in that.
S'ok, it's a good crazy though.

More than a few of us "olders" here, vapin' our cig habits away. Impressed you're at 0mg and doing well!

And of course....... Welcome to ECF (-:

Thanks! I am actually afraid to do more than 0 mg....I don't want to go from not smoking at all to an increased nicotine. I guess I'm doing it only for the sensation and taste.

Vaping is fun and flavorful. I think you should come clean with hubby and have your children there to help support you. They can assure him that vaping is not smoking, especially at zero nicotine. If you really want to enjoy vaping come on out with it so you can do it at your leisure.

That's a good idea about having the kids there:)
