Interesting. Everyone I've ever known who lived in Texas wanted to get out and get as far away as possible.

You have no idea how much I hated the place when I actually lived there but you don't know what you have till it's gone I suppose.

i felt the same way living in cali ... it was a money pit ... Crash, why did you move to Ireland ?!?!?!

Well my dad was running a business in Dallas, he had one of those big supermarkets and it went under (when his business partners decided to steal from him and move to Australia) he lost 4 mil USD over night. So that had to force my dad out of retirement (he's a captain) so he decided to move the family to Singapore, but I just wasn't ready to make a move like that. I was there on the dad's business visa, so well I got that converted over to a student visa and everything was going great, till I found out the girl I was with for 3 years (my main reason for wanting to stay there) was cheating on me pretty much the whole time and had got herself pregnant by some dude. I was young and heartbroken so I just decided to move, and somehow I ended up in Ireland and I'm currently going to college here, just finished my bachelors and about to start my masters.

Its been almost 4 years since I moved from Dallas, and when I see all you Texas Vapers on here it just makes me sad. All you Texas folk don't know how lucky you are, I'd give an arm and a leg to be back there right now. :(

It was 106 degrees here yesterday with a heat index at 120 degrees

IT WAS HOT !!!!

OMG I'm so there. I moved from Dallas to Washington in 1999 to get married and thought I would enjoy milder summers. My entire (huge) family lives in Texas. My husbands family consists of his mother and a brother/sister-in-law. I've been homesick for the last 10 years. I dream of the day when I (we) can move to Texas. *sigh*

My mother-in-law thinks I harp about how great Texas is all the time. What can I say? IMHO It's the best state to live in!

What year was this

1998, 1999, 2000?

I would have to say between 02-05. I would usually be at most of the big meet ups around the Arlington and FW area as well. Spend a good bit of time down at the race track in umm that little redneck town between Arlington and FW lol, can't think of the name right now.

Pantego? North Richland Hills?

Crash -- I'm from Lewisville and went to NTU when it was still called NTSU! That little song hits home. So does TexMex food, ya'll, fixin', and yonder. Deep Ellum, Lewisville Lake in the 80's, ****'s downtown with all the peanut shells on the floor and the nasty attitude! White Rock Lake, Joe Bob Briggs and Q102 - Texas Best Rock!

I've been out to Lewisville a few times, and i used to listen to Q102 like all the time. TexMex ugh thats making my mouth water, the closest thing you can get to it in Ireland is Mexican but hell I can make better Mexican food at home. Never did hang out around Deep Ellum much probably because I wasn't old enough to drink at the time, so glad the legal drinking age in Ireland is 18 lol :D

You all just made me think of this song so I thought I'd post it here.

I totally forgot about that song:)

I've lived in TX all my life and I know what's good for me:p
Originally from Houston/ NASA area. . .so I do mist the coast.

Bowling for Soup rocks I saw them in concert and got 'em to sign an album for me. I got to visit that lil NASA center they have in Houston when I was doing ROTC stuff in High School it was pretty cool. :thumb:

Here is the BEST song about missing Texas
YouTube - Texas

The video has no motion, I think it's copyright thing.
The voice at the end always makes me laugh.

LOL, i want some pecan pie now :(

Texans are a special breed of people. Every texan i've ever met is all about texas. To them, we dont live in the united states of America, we live in the united states of Texas and everything not within the borders of texas is actually an outlying suburb of dallas.

I have a buddy from texas that says 'never ask a man if he's from texas. If he is, he'll let you know, if he's not, you dont want to embarrass him.
