Hey guys! Ive got 2 Hello 016 batteries, one that just quit on me. I think the low resistance atties finally destroyed it. It charges fine, the button fires, but I get no current flowing. So im wondering if theres anything else I should consider. Is the screwdriver worth it? I want something that can last me at least one day, so at least 800 or so mAh. I hate the ego's. Ive had 4 so far and all of them have died on me in an absurdly short time. Even when using "standard" resistance atomizers. is there anything better made than the hello? Ive had these for at least 3 months and they are pretty solid, but have problems accepting certain ato/carto-mizers (CE2, im looking at you). I have also decided to go back to regular resistance atomizers for a while. I just had 4 LR (1 Cisco, 1 bauway, 2 joye) die on me in a pretty short amount of time. Some of them last about a month which is totally fine by me, but the bauway lasted like 4 days. Ive just had a string of bad luck. Maybe I'm sourcing them from the wrong places? I usually get stuff from CoV, Alien Visions, Rocky Mountain, etc. (aka some I cant remember right now) Id like to upgrade my battery to a replaceable battery mod but those are ......edly expensive (well, ......ed in that the cost of the parts would probably be a max of 5-10 bucks). Im inclined to make my own box mod, but those look clunky and stupid. The hello is even a stretch for going out in public.
Id like to spend 50-70 bucks MAX, but would like to keep it around 20-30 if possible.

Whats up with the Riva? Is it any better than the ego's? 2 of mine died due to the fact that the battery isnt well sealed in the enclosure and I dropped them. The other two just were DOA and fried my charger, along with everything it touched. Do the ego passthrough work well?

EDIT: oh, and the roughstack looks ugly as hell.

My thoughts? Go to VaprLife and get yourself a Turbo and be done with it. The fixed volt model does both 3.7v or 5v with a simple battery change. The device is not much bigger than a Hello and it's certainly not ugly. :) Yes, it's more than you wanted to pay, but at $85, it really can't be beat.

That thing looks cool, but for something so expensive, I would expect it to be made out some really good alluminum and be completely adjustable and mechanical. I dont want to send it in for repairs for 28 bucks. Thats just silly to me. I know all mechanical should be cheaper than electrical as there are no parts other than a tube, but really dont need all these regulators and stuff if the batteries are protected, they have that circuitry built in. I want something that I dont have to get repaired or throw away like the ~10 batteries I have bought so far. What do you guys think of the Thermo/Sparkplug from litecig?

Regarding no current from your battery, have you tested it with a meter to see if you are getting current from the battery connection? If so, the round piece on the bottom of your atty may be pushed in too far from screwing them in too hard, get a little screwdriver and pry up a little around the edges of it just raising it a tad, do not pry it completely out. Riva and all that stuff is the same as ego, just clones. Ego, Vgo, Riva etc. If you must have a unit with the rechargeable battery you don't have many choices. If you want to go with a unit like a screwdriver, yes they are good, I would suggest the cloud lazer from clouds of vapor for 50.00. It is a really nice vape but they are out of stock.

Second choice is something that takes an 18650 battery, it is the only thing that has a good sized life span besides the 26650. Do you prefer tube or box mod?

Actually I figured out what happened the the hello. I must have dropped it because I got frustrated (since the other batt I have has messed up threading) and smacked it. Then it started working. haha. If I shake it, I can hear the battery moving around. The contacts must not have been touching the batt internally. Well I think I have decided on getting a used Icon. My only concern is the battery. The guy selling it to me claims he can fit tenergy protected 900mah 14500s in it just fine but the manufacturer's site says that protected batts dont fit so Im a bit confused. Can anyone clarify this?

The sparkplug is a VERY good battery mod for the price. The button is a little awkward to get used to because you have to push it up inside the housing a bit. You can also get replacement switches and top caps directly from the manufacturers website.

I really like the Steampunk Sparkplug also.. Extremely well-built, and compact. I also enjoy the native 801 connector. :)

I don't have one, but perhaps he is able to do so by not screwing the cap on all the way.
