Hey there everyone,
I know this "What mod should I get" question gets asked a lot, but I need something a lil more specific I think.

I've been looking around and frankly it's starting to make me dizzy, lol.

The last mod I bought was a dna 20 man cave mod, 26650, this is my everyday work horse.
I typically vape from .7 to 1.8 ohms and rarely go over 10 watts.
I want something that will fire sub ohm if I want to at some point, and I do build my own coils (ok, not all the time, I do buy pre made coils some, but I am able to build my own)
I use a couple rose set ups and I also drip, I use 6mg and some 12mg.

I have looked at the boxer mod, the snow wolf, and some others. If I could get another MCM dna 40 I'd be all over it, but sadly he no longer makes them. I'm obviously very fond of wood, but I don't see many wood modders around, are they hiding or just that much harder to her now?
And suggestions are greatly appreciated

No, you don't even NEED a regulated mod. Unless of course that's what you want.
Me I'm happy vaping at 10-15watts and 1ohm or more. I can't even find a REASON to buy a mod of 30watts or more. Other that it might be cool to have. I don't vape for fun.. I vape to not smoke.

Dunno, reminds of the time when ghetto blasters were marketed with insanely high wattage.
Doesn't have to mean much if they get pumped into some rickety speakers.
Bit like getting that piece to power a CE4 ...

Me ole Kenwood also had 200 Watts or so, but the neighbours from three blocks away did know that they were driving 20-inch subwoofers ;)
Number alone doesn't tell the whole story.

Reminds me of when I was a kid. Dad, blasting classical music at around 500watts. While he played along on the PIPE organ in the loft above the living room. FWIW, dads mid range speakers were 12" and the woofers were 20" and 24". The was in the 70's. The word sub woofer didn't exist.

You don't say what kind of battery life you need from a mod, if a single 18650 would do or if you need a dual cell or another 26650. Maybe you have a bunch of those and don't want to switch. :D

You certainly don't require the watts that need a dual 18650.
There's the single 18650 75w Treebox.
It seems to be converting more than a few to the feel of a wooden case. :p

It's not DNA level TC, but it has a few adjustment tricks that put it in a middle ground between normal/standard and DNA/SX Mini.

ask all the 200watt owners if they vape at 200watts and you'll get a lot of no's.
what's good about having the 200watts is that it requires more batteries, thus if you're vaping at even 50watts with it, you wont have to recharge your batteries as often (eg/ie Rx200 reuleaux or any other 200watt device).

If you're only usually doing 10watts but want something you can subohm if you feel like it, why not get something that's 50-75watts?

Nope.

I would only own a high wattage, dual battery mod for the battery life. and I never vape over 20 watts on my one VW regulated mod. Not sure of the wattage on my Hexohms, but usually running .4-.6 ohms. I don't like a hot vape, so I would guess I'm around 20-25 watts, but I've never checked the voltage so I don't know for sure.

Short answer: I would only own a high wattage device for the battery life, assuming it had at least dual 18650 batteries.

As mentioned above look at the Rx200 from reauleaux. It is capable of 200 watts yes, but the main difference is this mod uses 3 18650. I use mine in Tc mode and can get 3 days, lower watts and you could probably get close to a week. It also does have on board USB charging. If you look around you can get it for around 50 dollars, but need to grab 3 new mated 18650 for it.

Honestly...

If u going for an all day vape... 30-50watts is all u really need, tc is also not a must, i used kanthal, ni200, now im back to kanthal and im quite satisified with a 0.5 ohm build @30watts

Speaking of TC mods, am I seeing it right that those mods are not compatible with kanthal? Or is that only some of them? Is that the way we are headed in the future?
I have looked at that triple 18650 mod, that is something that just might work. I'm all set up to recharge batteries, but it would be great to have a usb option.
Yes, I know I'm all over the place, just not sure what I want. Lol, ;)

You simply need to switch from TC mode to Wattage mode and you can use your kanthal no problem.

I'm not aware of any TC mod that doesn't also have straight Power mode. It's not going anywhere anytime soon.
:)

But I did order SS last night so I can stop trying to remember what wire any given atty has in it and can just use it in VW or TC modes.
And yes, I ordered an RX as well, still no need for it though. :p

Some of the mods I looked at are sold out or pre order, so while I wait to see reviews and for mods to become available or an awe some Christmas sale..
I ordered a lost vape esquared dna40 mod. I have seen some ppl have had some trouble with the dna 40, but I rolled the dice anyway since its something I am familiar with. I will most likely pick up something with a sx350j for the next one, but hopefully this will keep me happy for awhile. It has dual 18650, so I'm hoping the battery life will be good.
I'll post pics when I get it.
Thank you for your suggestions!
