Hey yall, ive been vaping on and off for almost two years... ive only recently started exploring some options in the kinds of parts available but I would really just love to get something that works so I can quit messing around with it. I have a vivi nova tank and if the wicks didnt burn so fast I would be very pleased. I would also love to spend a couple hundred dollars on a mod... yeah right. Maybe one day. Anyway, are there any cheaper mods that work well and tanks that dont burn within a week?

Honestly, if you get a inexpensive tank that lasts longer than a week....maybe two, you'll be lucky. Even expensive ones like Kayfun and Ithaka have to be rebuilt on a regular basis. If your Viva's are getting a burned taste faster than a week, you may have your voltage to high, or are using a darker juice that gums up the coils faster. The only combination that comes to mind that lasts longer would be a genesis style RBA using stainless steel wick and Kanthal ribbon for the coil.

Before I switched back to silica, I used a variety of genesis tanks and could get the coil/wick to last maybe three weeks with some minor cleaning. But then, you'll be in the rebuilding mode and I guess you aren't really into that, which is to bad. It's really fun and can be very rewarding testing different types of wire and ohms.

Wish I could give you a better answer, but replacing coils in the nature-of-the-beast with vaping and really no way around it. Good Luck!!!

Welcome and all that. I've been using the Russian rba tank system and am very happy with it. New coil build is just pennies. Don't know how long it will last since I've only been on this build 4 days, but still vapping like a steam roller. It's a $95 copy/clone of the $175 Kayfun. Freaking assume. My current mod is a Provari, standard size. Freaking assume!!!. It's priced around $200 for the kit $159 for just the devise. Yeah, right. Worth it!!! Have a genesis clone on the way, only paid $16 for that.

You can find a SVD for about $70, MVP 2 about the same. Vamo around $50 or so. All decent mods. Do the research, check the reviews, but if you ask here you'll get a hundred different answers and you'll have to do the search anyways.

Just get a Provari, save time, frustration and in the long run money.

cheap mods work! i found, tho still a n00b, that going vw as opposed to vv, extended the life of my coils dramatically. one of the reasons is that my itaste vv v3 has an ohm meter in it. alot of my coils that ere supposed to be 2.2 are NOT! but, at least i know what the actual number is! btw, you could buy 3 for $100!

Itaste VV/VW 3.0 by Innokin - NettMix Custom Vapes

also, i use bottom coil changeable clearos, evods, protanks and davides.

Provaris are nice for durability and the name. (And being American made, if you're concerned about that)

Personally, I think the Evic is a much better mod. Much less expensive, way bigger battery, and many more options/features (very nice readout screen being one of them). While it does not go up to 6 volts like the Provari, the variable wattage gives you a much more accurate measurement. (I generally don't go up to 5 volts on my Evic for anything. I prefer using lower resistance atomizers.) Joyetech has been very good about listening to what their customers want, and adding more features, for free, through online updates.
