Small in diameter, or small in length? In diameter, with full VV-VW functionality at a very reasonable price would be a Innokin iTaste 3.0 and any number of clearo/glasso atomizers.

In a short mod, with modest diameter... well, not so many. I'm not even sure what's in the photo is an actual battery, on the bottom - if it is, it's very short, and would have limited mAh capacity - and it appears that it might be some sort of tiny mech mod with no outward signs of regulation or control. I'll be curious for someone to identify it.

An 18350 mech (or limited control device like the Innokin Cool Fire) as mentioned by Nikkita, or a short, 350/400 mAh eGo as proposed by Dave... those would certainly be candidates for "short".

The problem with small will always be, limited mAh, limited to no regulation - or both. Pricing can be all over the range - from the $8 mini eGo, to the Titanide Themis 10 or 14.

It's a mech so no VV/VW but the Gripper I really like as a small mod. Fits in palm of your hand in closed fist and barely noticeable drip tip coming out. On sale for $10 now was on sale for $8 a week or so ago...but still hard to beat $10.

If you don't already have charger like an i2 and/or batteries it's going to be a more costly initial investment but already had those with my other mods. Might as well get the Gripper 510 Extension if you are going that route as well. Instead of using a XL cartomiser you can put that in and then any 510 tank will work. It just adds more height to it.

Other than a cig-a-like that's the smallest I've seen and uses an 18350 battery and the cartmoizer doesn't sit on top it sits on the side which is what makes it so small.

Any just throwing out ideas for you.

EDIT: Here are dimensions
Feature: Height: 72mm
Feature: Width: 37mm
Feature: Depth: 24mm

A very good possibility at a great price point. And, just to point out, there are lots of "sidewinder" type mods that are similar, in all sorts of price ranges. The SvoeMesto "mini sticker" and Chels Mini ecig "Microstick" come to mind.

2nd one look smore like the gripper but I kind of like the look of the metal top one. Also thanks for the new term of "sidewinder"...I wasn't aware that that's what they were referred to as.

Not for certain, but I think the term "sidewinder" was coined by Zenesis Hybrids, or at least... they like to use the term for their side-by-side mods.

Look into the Mini ZMax. Made by both Smoktech and Segelei. Uses an 18350 IMR battery.

If she doesn't mind a box mod shape, hard to find a better performer than the iTaste MVP. Rechargeable battery holds a charge for 2-3 days, can be used as a passthru. She'll even be able to recharge her cell phone with it.

A bit too expensive for my taste...well I should say for my pocket book...they are beautiful mods; but I'll stick with my $10 gripper. Either way I'm using the term "sidewinder" from now to describe a mod where tank/carto sits to the side of the battery instead of on top of it ;)

Love my little Gripper. I generally only use it when I plan on stealth vaping at the cinema because its so....stealthy. :sneaky:
