Does it need to be ZenCart? I am finding its easier for me to design a site in Joomla and then add a shopping cart. The one I found I like a lot is Virtuemart. The only problem with it though, is I am having hard time accepting payments with Amazon. Paypal, and other CC gateways are fine, but Amazon I need to program a whole api I think to get it to work. But if you'd want it done with Joomla/Virtuemart I can help you with that.

No disrespect intended lintz69, but I have set up a few shops with Virtuemart and it is a pain to whip into shape. Full of bugs and by the time you're done hacking the code to make it play nice, you will never be able to upgrade without having to start from scratch. The good news is that Soren has passed the torch onto a group of developers that were planning on forking VM. Let's hope the next version of VM is more stable. NathanS, check the link to my portfolio in my signature below and PM me if you want to talk.

No disrespect taken. I will admit I am new to the web design part of things, and as such I am trying to help people without profit. I haven't had any problems with virturemart except receiving payments with Amazon. Other than that, products are listed good, and everything works great. I am not sure which version you used, or what problems. Maybe trying to get it to work in the fashion you are trying to it was not able to do so. But for what I have done thus far it has not been an issue. But with the clients that I am working on their sites now they need to accept amazon payments and there is no already built module for that and I am unsure how to get that to work. But other than that, its been great.

I did some research. You can accept alertpay for Joomla. There is a one time fee of $10 for the module. Again this would be using Virtuemart and Joomla and accepting payment through alertpay. If you want to go that way I can help you with it free of charge. If you prefer to stay with ZenCart I can try to help you out, but have not honestly spent much time on it yet. I can give you examples where virtuemart is working without problems. But again, this would be your decision. I am not trying to pressure you either way as I am not making money either way. Just trying to offer help where I can.

If you can make me a zen cart that works with alertpay please call me at 503-998-7793. Call me as late as midnight PST.

I just need it done soon.

Hey Josh!!

You spent time with Joomla but honestly you should try Zen Cart. It is incredibly easy.

Not sure what the original poster has in mind for payment to anyone. I just want to state the obvious -High cohesive stylish design is labor intensive. It is an art!

My suggestion would be for the original request to include what sites they like! Easier for meeting of the minds. If they want a simple zen cart no real style..or individuality..pretty much take Josh's free offer. BUT if time is Major concern you need to state a deadline!

Actually his zen cart is Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce

It's completely stock. I have played a bit with zen cart and oscommerce, but have just found I can do better work with joomla. Check out King of Geeks and on the left hand side where it says portfolio look at some of the sites I have done with Joomla. Now Natura, aren't my sites pretty stylish? BUT... I only spent MAYBE 1 hour max on each design. I use Artisteer and WOW. Makes it look great in my opinion. But comments are most welcome of course.

Ouch... I have style thank you ;) I may be free, but I am awesome too.. Legend in my own mind ;)

If You know me..... type and send-brain n fingers seldom good communication there

You do Extremme EXTREMELY BETTER work then their current website- NO DOUBT. I just wonder what they really are looking for and if their happy with current design. Everyone has different taste.

Actually awhile earlier when you mentioned your website- I got a completely different geek LOL His work was ummmmmmm OK for free ...but not for me free lol. NOW I see-Your work is above for free or products.

I am an artist and do oil painting. Many web sites do not appeal to me because of the blatant distinctions in color etc. I am abnormal LOL.

Your work is definitely good and sorry my last post came across sooooooo wrong. Believe it or not..I was actually trying to support you. Your offer was extremely generous to say the least.

hehe, I know what you meant. I am just playing with you. Well, to be honest with you working in art you know everyone has their own tastes. I have yet to make my OWN design with my own tastes. Am in process of it now. But taking me months lol. With me on disability I can't hold a full time job. There are times when I can help and other times when my mind doesn't work that I am of no use. So I offer my services free in hopes that I can help people. And when I do sites I try and work close with the customer. You take dinosaurvapor.com. I told him I am not very fond of the yellow and red, and don't like the "baby dinosaur" for an adult product. But that is what he wanted. Some people like it some don't. I started Vapor Sabre and have tried a few times to get a hold of him to see how I can change it to his preferences but he has been quite busy. Zap Cigs I spent about an hour recreating the logo which partly can be found on test2.kingofgeeks.com and to find out he likes his plain one better.

So I often times wonder, when I show people my work, I often ask will they judge my work as what I have done, or understand I do what the customer wants and know what I CAN do?

Most customers do not make a distinction. It's why major ad agencies get a specific type of client. People are too busy in their own life- to think outside a box typically. And if they do think outside the box- their taking bigger risks typically.

HEHEHEHEHEHE.... Now... if I do stripper websites, and I take "product donations only" well boy I'll end up divorced real quick rofl.

Nah my problem is I don't know what I want to do. I like to learn. as I am learning and having fun it's great. Once it's done, I hate copying it. 1-2-3 ecigs is fun. Playing with photoshop to make smoke, and colors and such. But give me about another month and I'll be bored and want to do a completely different thing.

I am just looking for a zen cart that has my products listed, the name TrueVapor.com at the top and for it to work.

I keep everything simple. I made my site using HTML, I don't do graphic design, i dont make art. I made my site as simple as possible. I think it looks good...

If you know how to use zen cart I would think it would be a very easy project. I already have product pictures and descriptions. I just need them in a zen cart and an alertpay modal hooked up.

    This is what I have:

    www.Truevapor.com/zencart

As far as payment, I have no idea. Give me an estimate....

What are you going to do when alertpay shuts your account down for selling "- Prescription drugs or devices, controlled substances, unapproved drugs and/or unapproved medical devices." and "tobacco products, smoking mixtures or tobacco substitutes."
It seems like alertpay is as small minded as paypal, and will do just what paypal has done in the past, shut your account down if they catch you.
I am looking for a way for customers to pay me too, and possibly starting up my website, but I don't want to have to pay out the nose in fee's and still have to worry about having my account shut down.
I would pay someone a dollar if they can find someone that doesnt charge a arm and a leg, want to hold thousands of dollars in reserve, and is not small minded.
    Any Takers?

From what I hear Amazon will allow payments. Heck you can buy ecigs from amazon site. If your only selling one type of ecig like the chuck, then it's super simple to set up a single pay button. But for a shopping cart they have 2 modules already made. First for Oscommerce, and 2nd I think for zencart. But you can use any kind of shopping cart. I am working on (when I get a few spare mins) to get it to work with virtuemart and Joomla. But either way, at this moment it looks like Amazon is the way to go. Maybe just "for now" but at least "for now" it works.
