ok so i've decided to buy a roughstack maxi, but now i am looking at batteries and i think i'm gunna go with 2x 3v RCR123A... but that isnt set in stone.. another possibility being a nimh 5v battery but i already have a li-ion charger and dont wanna add to my already growing bill by adding additional chargers to it if it can be helped.

my question is what brand or type of battery would be the best for my new device? and by best i mean battery with the longest life span.. that is really all that matters in my battery, how long it will stay in my device before it has to be recharged? and how any charges can i get out of it before i'd just be better off throwing it away and buying another?

The tenergy batts are popular. You might have a look at this kit, though. You said you already have a li-on charger... make sure it will do 3.0v batts before you put any on it.

I really like these batteries, they seem to put out a lot of current, I use them and some 18350's in a copper tube mod I built using the LDO 5v reg. The 350's last longer but the 123 Li-Po's seem to kick better.
