I Have bought 5 e-cigs. I just got a Nebula Feb. 10, and have already replaced a battery with the other one acting up. I smoked for 36 yrs. and need something that will last for one thing. Something that will vape good. I have been filling the juice up myself. I went to the EFC Library and still am not sure. I'm thinking the Prodigy, one it's made mostly in the US. Two I think I will get more vapor from it. I was on their site today and am confused on which one to order. I'm all about the vaping without working to hard to get it. I dont want to keep buying cartomizers either. I just need something that will last, I've only been doing this for almost 5 months. Have learned alot on ECF, thanks for that! Pursmoke seems to have more models than what they had when it was put in the Library, or is it just different looking?
Puresmoker.com - (Puresmoke is another company) has two basic models:
Prodigy - a 5Volt mod
Protege - a 3.7Volt mod
While the Protege's battery has the same voltage as some cig style ecigs, it is quite difference in performance. It holds 'peak voltage' longer than the cig style batteries and hence you get more vapor for a longer period of time. In my experience, I can vape heavy on the Protege for 8 -10 hours, ymmv. And with 3.7 volts, it is less likely to burn out atomizers or flavors. I use it with the Joye 510 atomizer.
The Prodigy being 5 volt, while not quite as hot as a 6 volt mod, I'd still recommend not using a 510 atomizer with it because the ohm rating of the 510 makes it run much hotter than the 801 or 901 atomizers. I use a 5 Volt mod (Bartleby) for cartomizers and with the 901 atomizer.
Puresmoker.com has solved their earlier switch problems, imo. Plus their switches now have a lifetime warranty and frankly, that's the only thing that can go wrong with any mod, so that is a significant consideration in purchasing, imo. I don't own the Prodigy but if I were interested in vaping 5 volts on a more permanent basis, it would be the one I would chose IF I wanted a tube style body. I don't regret getting the 3.7V Protege and use it daily.
