Ok so i figured itd be easier to make a flavoring by adding everything into a seperate bottle instead of having to measure out 5-6 different flavors individually everytime i make my recipe.

So how would i go about converting percentages of every flavoring in my recipe to make one base flavor? This way all i have to do is measure out the base with all the flavors in it, to my PG/VG and nicotine?

My friends are starting to buy some of my juice and its beginning to become a nuisance in having to measure out 5-6 different flavoring just to make a bottle...

Thanks in advance!

First off, you posted in the wrong sub-forum. You should have posted in the DIY forum, this one is just for recipes.

You can mix all your flavors together for one specific recipe at one specific volume. Use the e-juicemeup calculator. Get the percentages of your flavors that total up to 20% of the volume you want to make.

This percentage changes with a change in total volume. So if you have five friends you want to give a recipe to, say a 12 ml bottle, you can mix-up 60 mls and then fill 5 12 ml bottles.

Cool thank you. I realized i was in the wrong subforum. Im using tapatalk so i forgot where i was when i was searching recipes.

So lets say i fill up a 60ml bottle of all the ingredients of my recipe. Would i just divide the percentage of each flavor by 60ml? I was under the impression that if i added the flavoring to my base all i would need to do is set the % to 25 per whatever size bottle I'd use.

Yes, but that set percentage is total flavoring. The calculator has a flavor % sub-routine in the tools menu. The first entry is for total flavor percentage say 20%. Take each flavor you want in the recipe and add it to the entries so that all your flavors come out to 100% then hit calculate. The sub-routine will then give you the amount of each flavoring in percentage form to add in the flavor entries on the main page of the calculator. These will add up to 20% of the volume of the recipe. The other 80% is your PG/VG Nic/Water/Alcohol all in ratios that you set.

Using one of my simple recipe as an example:

Red Hots 10%
Menthol 10%
Koolida 3%
EM 2%

Think in terms of fractions, there are a total of 25% flavoring (10%+10%+3%+2%) used in the mix. Use this number to find the percentage of each component for your flavoring base:

Red Hots 10% => 10/25 = 0.4 (40%)
Menthol 10% => 10/25 = 0.4 (40%)
Koolida 3% => 3/25 = 0.12 (12%)
EM 2% => 2/25 = 0.08 (8%)

If you want to make a 50mL flavoring base:
Red Hots: 0.4 * 50mL = 20mL
Menthol: 0.4 * 50mL = 20mL
Koolida: 0.12 * 50mL = 6mL
EM: 0.08 * 50mL = 4mL

An easier method without using a calculator is through ratios. Since the ratio of the flavoring components is 10:10:3:2, you can make the flavoring base by mixing 10mL+10mL+3mL+2mL = 25mL base. If you want 50mL, just double the volume of each component.

Now that you made a batch of flavoring base, just enter it as a single flavoring entry and set it at 25% then let the ejuice calculator do the rest.

Thanks this was the answer i was looking for. My laptop is broken so i do everything solely through my phone. Appreciate it buddy!

I understand the numbers and the calculator. What I'm not sure of is how you determine what percentage of overall flavor you want to achieve with your batch. I mean is 50-75%... or even 100% way over the top? Is it just a matter of personal taste and then experimentation? And is there a ballpark overall flavor percentage you'd suggest to start with for somebody brand new to DIY? Thanks.

Since my recipes vary between 0.35% to 35% total flavoring and I know some flavorings can go from great to horrible with a change of 0.2% while some flavorings change the taste slightly with a change of 8%, how would I answer your question?

I wrote a blog about flavoring levels so I wouldn't have to keep typing the same answer. Basically covers how to tell too little from too much (which is tougher than you may first think) so you'll know which way to adjust.

I just read your blog after typing my post and before reading your reply just now. And I thank you for the blog. 3rd blog leads us to identify where we're at in the mix and what further actions to take, but it does not help the noob in determining where a good starting percentage might be. But as I can see from your reply, it's highly dependant on which of the numerous flavoring you're using, so I can see how futile it is to reply with a concrete answer. That's okay. I'm just gonna start at 20% and let my tastebuds take it from there. Thank you. :)

Hoosier... Lol

20% is too high IMO to start with.
Start low and work up. I give it a sniff test and see if I can tell how potent the concentrate is. Doesn't always work but it gets me close most of the time. If it smells strong start low, if it smells weak start a little higher. I found out I'm a little more sensitive than most to flavor and smell.
Finding the flavors takes time, don't be in a hurry. Another thing is one persons favorite recipe could taste like crap to you.

If you had 100% flavoring...well then that's just pure flavoring no room for nicotine PG/VG. Remember alit of these flavors are concentrated where as a little goes a long way. I hope you didn't get confused from my post that was dealing with 40% and 40% + 20% other flavoring. I was merely trying to put my recipe into one concoction so all i had to do was syringe out of one bottle containing my recipe and add it to my nicotine base/PG/VG to cut the time to make it.

First, I don't make a Crunch Berry's, but I bet Joe (BigChief) of Hoosier Vapes does. (His business is an "r" off the social/political club I'm president of)

Second, on the first question, no. I may develop a recipe with individual single flavors, but once I find the right ratios, I mix all the flavorings first, PG/VG, then nicotine.
