Ok so I started vaping about 3 months ago and all has been good not a single analog since day one. I started with an Ego-c twist and a protank, flavor was good and I did alright. I moved up to a provari with a iclear 30s this gives me the best flavors. I tried an aqua clone as well as a trident and they do about the same but not worth the trouble for me. I have had a few people, who know a lot more then me about rebuildables, make me some coils and like I said they were ok, but not worth the trouble. I guess I prefer tanks and a somewhat keep it simple and trouble free type of vape. That being said I need more flavor I have been limited to local b&m shops for juice but I might try and order some online, I vape 6mg of nic I have tried a protank 3, protank 2 mini, a iclear30s and x.1 as well as the above mentioned rebuildables and a few no name drip attys.

so any recommendations to get more flavor, is it the topper or the juice. I like dessert and fruity liquids.

It can be both the topper and the juice.

You haven't tried a cartotank yet? This uses an entirely different wicking system. A steel tube filled completely with polyfill, a better flavor carrier than tiny silica strings (clearomizer). This results in better flavor and more consistancy than a clearomizer.

Is it a carto, a tank, or what?

IBTanked Pyrex Cartotanks - Review

Finding a few flavors that you enjoy can be both frustrating and an exciting journey of exploration. I've personally found vendors who use all-natural, all-organic flavoring agents to have better overall flavor.

If you have a B&M vape shop who has a flavor tasting bar, you'll be ahead of the game as you can try them before you buy them. If not, purchase from vendors online who have sample packs to try before buying larger size bottles.

You can get a pyrex carto tank from a bunch of dealers. The IBtanked is a great product, but you may be able to get a smok locally just to try it out to see if you like it. Also, ask them to prime it for you. It has a small learning curve, and as a cato tank lover, I wouldn't want to see someone hate it because it wasn't set up right. And if you like it, kayfuns will probably be in your future. It is truly a carto tank on steroids.

Thanks baditude. Looks like I need to place an order for an IBtanked. I will check out more of your reviews.

You can try a carto without a tank; then once you like cartos, you can get a tank and buy slotted/punched cartos.

Also, there's the different carto manufacturers; ikenvapes, smok and boge;
they're probably going to have slightly different tastes because of the filler/wicking material used.

I too like dessert and fruity liquids and I'm only about three months into Vaping (almost two months free of cigs) so I am by no means an "expert" and I do not vape for sport (not judging those who prefer large clouds) and I'm loathe to be one of "those people" who try to recommend devices that might surpass someone's comfort level (is that enough caveats yet? Trying to cover all bases) but I do highly recommend a Kayfun Lite. Yes, they do require a coil build but not a low-ohm build and once you do have your coil built you're good to go for a couple of weeks. The flavor is amazing and it is little maintenance, provided you've done some requisite study and expect a learning curve.

It is certainly the flavor of a dripper with the convenience of a clearomizer. Good luck on your mission. :)

I was a carto tank gal for a long time...IBtanked...I have since moved on to Kayfun Lites but I do keep a couple carto tanks around for certain flavors that are just TOO MUCH in the Kayfun. I DIY and have had to also reduce my flavoring percentage because of the Kayfuns.

As for rebuilding once you get the hang of it its not that bad. And if you use cotton and get a good coil build the coil will last you well over a month with cleaning and dryburning.

But if you are not interested in that then I second the IBtanked carto tanks. They are great!

kayfun with cotton build on a provari is freaking sweet!!! If you want flavor thats a great way to go. There is certainly a learning curve though. Your vape will only be as good as the weakest link. You got a solid battery/mod so that only leaves topper, type of coil, type of wick, coil placement, air flow and liquid :p If you are determined to not rebuild I hear the nautilus is about as good as the pre made coils get. No first hand experience with them though.

Interesting, you really get more flavoring with the polyfill vs Aerotank v2 or PT minis which is what I have? If I order, how many cartomizers u usually order at 1x or how long do they normally last, I know it varies but on average for a month [probably 19mm not sure if standard or XL is better]. I unfortunately don't have a b&m anywhere close so everything has to come online. Ppl that have used IB tanked, do you HAVE to use there drip tips? I have plenty & don't care for aluminum but if other drip tips are wonky I will have to use it I guess... If someone can help me w/ any or all these I would appreciate it.

To Myah: Yes, more flavor with polyfill (carto) than silica string (clearo).

You do not have to use the drip tips sold by IBTanked. Most other drip tips will fit the tanks. Order the number of pre-punched cartos depending upon how often you wish to buy them.

Cartomizers used in a cartotank will last about as long as a coil in a clearomizer. They both use heating coils which get wonky after multiple daily use. My guess is a carto will last 10 - 20 days on "average", but your results may vary depending upon the color of the eliquid and the pg/vg ratio of the eliquid.

Size (length) of the carto (35mm vs 45mm) depends upon the length of the tank - or vice versa. One is not better than the other.

Choose the resistance to match the battery device you use. Fixed voltage devices (mechanical mod or non-variable voltage eGo) use low resistance (lower number of ohms) ohm. Variable voltage regulated mods use a standard resistance (higher number of ohms) carto.

Please read the blogs that were previously provided in the links.

You can use any drip tip you have. I have a couple IBTanked and they are great. they look wonderful and work even better. I did start off with a cheap carto just to make sure that is what i wanted. I have a kayfun, but it tends to leak so I am not all that fond of it. I prefer the taifun for filling and leaking. I hardly ever leaks and is so much easier to fill.

Thank you very much, wish I read up more. Just bought Aerotank Mini & Aerotank v2 which are better then others. We have a spinner2 & MVP2. Would the 2.0 be good for both in your opinion? Ty again, much help!

Any carto resistance of 2.0 - 3.0 ohm will work fine on a variable voltage Spinner and MVP2.

Who do you order juices from.
I use a variety of tanks,
The iclear x.1 is as close to a cartotank as you can get with out being a carto tank,
I vape alice in vapeland in iclear bdc and find the flavor strong.
Kayfun delivers so much flavor i can only vape a few juices with it.

My guess would be your juice vendor.

Who do you buy from?

I find some juice companies to be weaker in flavor than others.
Also steep time, some juices that are weak at first, after a few weeks or months are much much stronger.

I also find the nic level affects how much flavor. Example... Alice in vape, and at 6mg is too light in flavor, at 12 mg much more flavor.
One of my favorite vendors is aroma. At 12mg nic
The vapor room is a new one with lots of flavor. 12mg
Nicoticket i prefer at 6mg nic.

All my juices i let sit for three to four weeks.

Good luck.
Ibtanks are ok tanks. Just be aware that the anodized coloring chips off.
I recently purchased three crazyvapes tanks and am wowed at the quality and customer service.
I dont own a phiniac tank, yet.
The iclear x.1 i am very happy with.

My opinions with my experience, and i mean no disrespect to those who disagree.

If you want to give building a go, the kayfun has been a fun flavorful tank and i got mine from fasttech for less than $30

Baditude is the man when it comes to cartos!!! I tried the them based on his posts and could be happier w/ Ibtanked setup. I tried slotted and laser punched single hole. The slotted did better with 100% vg than the large single hole but the flavor between the two was basically the same. I have the Z2 cartotank which can be only used on Z2 threaded device and i get a little better flavor but the cost just doesnt compare to the ibtanked.

I have an RDA that gives me the best flavor using cotton with a 1.5ohm coil. My Kanger Protank Mini II gave me good results but the cartotanks just have way better flavor and hold more juice. When I am home i use the RDA and when i am out and about its the cartos. YMMV

Anyone going to mention - the IBtank, for all its glory and grace, is just a juice holder?
Yes they are one of the nicest and definitely reasonably priced Glass tanks, but...........

It is the Carto that will or will not do the job.
XL tank is definitely worth it for the extra liquid volume and reduced fiddling.

I recently switched both my daily carto tanks to Killer 705 rebuildable inserts and the flavor jumped dramatically. Problem is, that entails the occasional rebuild.

Now even they sit idle most of the time as the Kayfuns provide an even better experience and are fast/simple to re-wick when needed.

I was having terrible luck with Aspire BDC so I drug out a IB Tanked I had bought but never used. I love it. I was using the 2.2ohm cartomizers and today I got some 3.2ohm cartomizers in the mail. I ordered 4 - 2.2 and 2 -3.2 to try and man I like these 3.2ohm cartos real well, extremely tasty. Big difference over the clearomizers. I ordered a new tank as well. I have 2 - 19 XL Tubes one in green and one in red.
I've only used one of the 3.2 cartos and it makes for a great vape. The ohms have been dropping the whole time I've used it this evening. Started of at 3.2 but has fallen to 2.6 already. Hopefully the other one will hold its ohms better. I will be ordering a bunch of 3.2 ohm cartomizers and don't mind having the 2.0's around for stealthy vape situations where i'm limiting my vapor output ! IB Tanked makes nice stuff. They were out of red ceramic vase drip tips when I ordered. Gotta have it all matching ... you know !

I might be a little late to the party but electronicstix has the Boge cartos on sale for 3.75 a 5 pack and their J-tanks are a quality product and pretty inexpensive. I just ordered a few things from them today myself. It could be a pretty good way to test out a carto tank without too much money down. I can almost say for certain the carto tank will blow you away if you've gotten used to clearos. Other than a carto tank the only other device I really truly like are RDA's, but those involve rebuilding and getting used to having to drip (unless of course you have a Reo) if you feel up to it. I love flavor myself as well and those are my two favorites.

As for the juice, well, you can't go wrong with Nicoticket, especially if you like dessert vapes. Their Betelgeuse is a killer fruit vape as well
