Hopefully someone can help me out here...Here's my problem:
I have a Nautilus and a Nautilus Mini...for some reason, no matter what juice I use or what mod/vv stick I use, the taste always seems muted in either one of these tanks!

Last night I decided to give it one last shot and filled up the mini (with a new 1.8 coil that I primed) with my Dark Horse Sweet Sookie which is saturated with flavor in every other tank I've put it in. Let it sit for 45 min to let it get good and saturated...put it on my evod vv 1600 ohm stick at 4.0 (where I normally keep the setting)....took a few puffs and got nada for flavor. bumped it up a few and down a few...still nada. So then I put it on my 30w IStick. Started out at 10w (which is where it is with my Vivi Nova with the same juice)...took a pull...got a slight hint of the melony goodness that I should have been tasting completely. Played with the watts and it never got better. Did the same with my Coolfire IV 40w...taste was still extremely muted like the juice had been cut in half.

So, is there some little tip/trick that could help me out here? I really really want to like these tanks because people say fabulous things about them, but right now I hate em lol!

Oh, and if there's a trick to getting the regular sized Nautilus unscrewed easier, I'll take that too...sometimes I'm having to use a pair of pliers to unscrew it and it sucks!

What airflow hole are you using on it? I've noticed the flavor is a bit low when I open it up all of the way, but it was my first step up from an evod tank so, anything was better than that.

Also, as far as getting the darn things open, If I'm at work I use a gumband, slip part over the metal, cross and slip part over the glass, grab onto the gumband and should open right up. Those rubber bracelets work pretty well for it too, I have an ancient livestrong one in my car that I use on occasion. . . or those rubber jar opener things. . . kinda chintzy but those things have a heck of a vacuum.

I've tried it on all 4 airholes..no flavor difference on any of them. I like the tip about those rubber bracelets...I have a teenage girl so those things litter my house! I'll grab one of them tonight :)

Thinking about it, my mini is almost useless on the ego battery, but no problems on the istick 30w. Are you using the bvc coils?

Yup...I've even tried the new cotton versions...makes no difference at all. I figured the cotton ones would, but nope...nada. Still tastes like someone dumped out half of my juice and filled it back up with unflavored.

Yup Yup, good luck on the flavor. I'd probably throw the thing through a window if it had no taste AND I couldn't get it open. ;)

Figures this would happen on the most expensive tanks in my collection lol...$6.00 tank=wonderful taste....$30 tank=watered down...I'm ready to pitch the sucker.

And then there's my best friend who found a regular size one in a couch in an abandoned house...after a complete clean and new coils, she flipping loves hers! Could the strength of the nic have anything to do with it maybe? I vape at 12mg...she vapes at 6mg.

I vape at 12mg, 50/50, 12-17 watts and one of the two biggest holes on the mini with an istick 30 and have only run into this with a dud coil.

I assume you've changed coils a few times? I know people have gotten dud coils with these, but really if you've changed them, then that's probably not it.

You seem to have primed it, followed all the rules of starting out low and moving up. . . The only other thing I can think of would be to put your finger over the air hole and take a hard draw. . . basically forcing the coil to almost flood. . . I've had one coil that didn't seem to prime right and I had to basically force the juice into it. . . But with that one I not only had no taste, I hardly had ANY vapor. . . so it might be worth a shot, but I'm not sure if it would fix it

My first day with the mini I was ready to break it. Thing gurgled like no other no matter what I did. took a few of the guys on here about 6 hours and countless times of me cleaning the thing and changing coils and everything to figure out that it had to be filled up 100% of the way when starting out, or the vacuum would get screwed up and it would flood every hit. I was so ready to go back to my $6 evod there.

I'm at a loss. I'm vaping some DIY Bourbon Tobaccy on mine right now. (I recently got it back in a trade with the guy I traded it to. LOL!) It's got flavor for days. Not quite on par with my Kayfun, but dang close. I've got mine on my iPV4 at 20W and it's rockin. The coils do take about a tank to break in right. And as miserly as they are with juice that can take a while. But I've never had one not put out ANY flavor. Coming from a Nova, I would expect it to blow your taste buds away. Hmm...

The only thing I can suggest is to crank up the volume. The coils in the Nova are about half the size of the ones in the Nauti. The Nova uses 32 wire I think and the Nauti uses 28G. It takes a lil more power to heat the thicker wire. Try it at 12-15W. 20 is the max I would go though.

I had it up to about 13, but I'll give it a shot a little higher (I've only had my Coolfire IV for a month or so and higher wattages still scare me lol). Maybe I've just never upped the temp enough. And snug plus a 1/8 turn is all I've ever tightened that sucker and it's still like it's cemented on lol. I have no trouble opening the mini--just the regular.

I'll give that a shot tonight after I get home and report back then. Thanks guys for helping me on this!

Hope you get it figured out!

My mini has two levels of closing: stuck on and you better have a rubber grip or leaking. >.<

Also, I can safely say that i start to get a burnt taste around 20. . . but, really, just keep going up until it's too hot or tastes burnt and then back off. . . that's usually where my flavor peak is. . .

Yeah, there's a sweet spot on that tank when you close it up. You will find it. If it ever gets COMPLETELY stuck, you can unscrew it at the top cap where the drip tip goes in with pliers. That's the piece that actually screws on the coil anyway. Just be careful. I actually only ever used mine on a mech until I got it back the other day. But a fully charged VTC4 fires a 1.8 ohm coil at a lil less than 10W. I do like it better at 20W though. That's a new experiment for me with the Nauti.
