disclaimer: Electrician I'm not.

I have a BB (and an SB but that's not an issue I think). The only protected 3.0v CR2's I've found are those green ultrafires. It seems that the threshold atomizer resistance on my application is right at 2.8 - 2.9 ohms.

So, 901s work fine. I thought KR808D cartomizers worked fine until I ran into about 8 of them that clocked in between 2.7 - 2.9 ohms... doh. I like using cartomizers a good bit. I suppose I could absorb about 2 boxes I have stocked but I'm worried that the next ones might be the same.

What I'm looking for is some easy solution that wouldn't require any permanent modifications. Like maybe a thin disk of some material to drop in under the spring or maybe a spring of a different material. The one in there now is stainless. Anybody have any ideas?

Altsmoke has those hotsprings... I'm not sure if that is what you're looking for really but I've heard them mentioned on that board it may be they would accomplish what you're looking for.

No, that would be the opposite. I think the stainless steel spring has about 0.2 ohms resistance and the hotspring is basically 0 ohms.

Someone suggested stacking adapters. That might work if they have any measurable resistance. Like BB -> 510/901 -> 901/510 -> 510/901 -> 901atty

I'm not an electrician; in fact, it's a miracle I've not blown myself up over the years. That said, could you just not ad a simple resistor?

That would involve soldering into the existing wiring. Not an option.

Now we're talkin. Thanks! I wonder how this turned out with use.
I might try to actually make one. The ominous sounding part was "too much graphite and it becomes too brittle..." Ideally, I'm lookiong for about 0.5 ohms. and how come somebody doesn't just sell material like this anyway? haha, wafer resistor sheets. uniform resistance at any point and you simple cut to size.
