I only shut my APV's off if they are going in a travel bag or my purse.

I have some clear vials with caps that are the right size to hold my full DCT's and Phiniacs including drip tips in place. I put the tanks I'm taking in them, pull the batteries out of the devices and put them in their cases and pack it up if it's the travel bag. If it's going in my purse I shut it off if it's a Provari or unscrew it a few turns if it's a Silver Bullet or a Helix.

My vv reo stays shut off when I'm not using it. When they first came out, there were a few that had firing issues..mine was one of them (it's fixed now) but I'll never forget seeing it sitting beside me, firing on it's own! Besides, there's a red led on the inside that stays on unless it's switched off.
I usually turn my provari off when I put it in my purse. If I have one gripe about the provari, it's that it takes going through the menu to turn it off...so sometimes it goes in my purse without turning it off. I take my vv madvapes box to work because (besides it being small and easy to conceal) its simple to switch off.

I got in the habit with my original old goat of turning it off because of the feather touch micro switch being so easy to trigger. The on/off switch on my VVPV is right under my thumb when I'm vaping, so it's easy to turn off when I'm setting it down. I often leave my REO VVW on during the day because the on/off is inside the door and isn't quite as handy, but if I leave the house and am not carrying it with me, I shut it off.
