I dove headfirst into the Reo back in June. Havent touched an "analog" since..Ive been happy ever since...

...but I still remember the cravings I had when I smoked. When I woke up...after I ate...when I got in the car...when I drank...etc. The cravings when I smoked were pretty intense. I HAD to have my cig at those points.

After about 4 months, I can say I really dont have those cravings anymore, except the after eating one. The first thing I do after I stuff myself is the grab the Reo. 2nd place comes the wake up, I still have a slight urge to vape as soon as I wake up.

Other than that I dont have any of the hard cravings I used to have, which is a good thing!

But then I step back and wonder, am I getting more nic vaping, and thats what lessens my cravings, or am I getting less, and Im just getting used to it?

Either way I dont really care, Im still happier vaping. I used to smoke 1 pad, and now I vape (appx) 3-4ml of 2.4 a day.

i, too vape about the same amount as you, but i've cut down my nic strength from 36 mg.s to 24 mgs.

And i DON'T have over 4,ooo chemicals invading my lungs/body!!

Vaping is GOOD,lol.

I think we were addicted to many more chemicals other than nicotine when we smoked analogs. Vaping helps us satisfy our craving for nicotine plus the psychological addiction to the ritual of smoking, so once we detoxed from all the other chemicals with addictive properties, we're in a much better place. Plus, getting that "really good vape" can be a real challenge until you find that perfect device, atty/carto, e-liquid, etc., and when you find it, the sense of accomplishment or "Eureka!" is very rewarding.

But that's just my :2c: on the subject.

I find that I don't "Jones" for my e-cig nearly like I did for cigarettes. I am pretty sure it's not that we're getting more (or even the same amount) of nic, either. I have lowered my nic down to 10-12mg and I can go for hours without going crazy. Before, I could set my clock around when I would HAVE to have a cigarette. I do believe that the other 4000 chemicals we were smoking were more addictive that the nicotine ever was. Once we've weaned off those, we're in much better shape. The hand to mouth and the "fiddling" with the ecigs would be a lot harder to give up than the nicotine. Even if I go to zero nic, I imagine I would crave my apv just because it's a fixture in my hand. Now, even when I don't necessarily want/need a vape, if I leave my REO sitting somewhere (i.e. not in my hand) I feel like something is wrong...missing. THAT's the feeling I think I'd have a hard time overcoming.

I think comparing how much nic is absorbed from smoking a PAD versus absorbed from vaping 3-4 ml a day is a crap shoot.

Some studies say 1 to 1.5 mg from a cig, but others say less than 1 mg. For argument's sake, lets use 1 mg of nic per cig = 20 mg of nic per pack per day. As far as I can tell, there are no definitive studies in the U.S. on vaping, but I have read that a 25% absorption rate is a SWAG (Sophisticated Wild Azz Guess), which should be better than a WAG. So 3 ml of 24 mg of nic = 72 mg, and 25% of 72 mg = 18 mg of nic per day. 4 ml works out to 24 mg of nic per day.

Assuming all of this is close to true, then a PAD is close to equaling 3-4 ml of 24 mg per day. But all of this is like a cloud of smoke (or vapor) because we're dealing with people. What works for one, may not work for another. Nic absorption varies from person to person and the variation may be significantly large.

So we're right back to where I started ... a crap shoot that us vapors are not really concerned about because we're healthier.

You know, I just don't even worry about it.

Like the people I know that ask when I am going to get done with vaping. Give me a break! I quit the cigs. I am healthier now. I am not hurting anyone.

Why does it bother people that I have a habit? They act like we are second class citizens because we now vape.

It bugs the daylights out of me when people think they know best.

I vape mostly 0mg with occasional 2mg mixes thrown in. I have the darn thing in my hand constantly and if I go for more than a few hours without it I do start jonesing for my 0mg fix. Turns out I wasn't much of a nic addict, but I'm very much addicted to the sensation of pulling something into my lungs. I started this little adventure intending to wean down to 0mg and then stopping vaping too. Now though I'm pretty happy where I am and for the time being have no intention of dropping it. I figure I'm a heck of a lot better off than where I was 2 years ago smoking 1 1/2 to 2 packs a day. So I've decided to keep on vaping for the time being. :)
