I ordered from iwantecig.com -- bad idea?

Okay, I should have probably done some research but I caved into the free starter kit from iwantecig.com for $9.99 shipping. Should have been shipping Tuesday. Still hasn't shown up. Does anybody know if this site is a scam, or what? I am aware of the fine print, they say after 15 days they'll charge $100 for a rip-off refill pack. They said I can cancel membership anytime, which I plan to do very soon and I hope they comply.

The brand of the equipment seems to be "E-Cigs Electronic Cigarettes" ... are these any good at all? Basically I'm just wondering that, and whether or not I'll even get my package. Yes, I'm stupid. I know. Should have researched first. (Although I did try to find something about the brand, but couldn't seem to. I guess the brand name is too generic? I dunno.)

Thank you! If it's not here this next Tuesday, I will just call the CC company and have them decline any charges. I'm hoping I still do at least get the starter kit. Does anybody know if the actual equipment they send is any good? I am brand new to this obviously. I've been a smoker for 15 years, and I'd love to switch and get the tar and other garbage out of my lungs.

If you signed up for one of those recurring "subscriptions" that send refills out on a regular basis - yeah, very bad idea. For a lot of people the only way to stop the charges is to cancel the credit card. Right now, the "delay" in receiving the starter kit is to guarantee the first $100.00 charge will be made before you get a chance to cancel.

First, do whatever it says on the site is required to cancel your "subscription." Then call you credit card company for advice. You can cite failure to ship as the reason to dispute the original charge. But to get any recurring charges to stop you may need to cancel the card and get a new number assigned. Best to do that before the first $100.00 charge hits the account. Whatever you do, refuse & return any packages that do show up unopened. After that you still have to monitor that particular bank - even with a new card number assigned. Some merchant accounts actually have agreements to get your new card info automatically if/when a card number has been changed.

After a peep at their site I would get as far away from them as soon as possible. It's a pretty weak site & I hate those kind of deals.
They more than likely suck you in & you get stuck. It's a rip off. Cancel your credit card ASAP. I've never heard of them.
Good luck.

BTW: Please explore ECF & by all means ask questions. That's what here for. We can help steer you in the right direction.

Yeah you want out of that deal
If I enroll in the refill Membership program I am agreeing to be charged $99.99 in 15 days for the kit I received plus a 10-cartridge refill pack, and 79.99 +S&H each 30 days thereafter for a new 10-cartridge refill pack. My credit card will be billed and my shipment will be sent automatically at those times. Refill shipments will continue until I call to cancel my Membership at 1-866-830-2464, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I understand that my starter kit has a retail value of $99.99. If I cancel my membership but do not return the starter kit, I will be charged for its full value.

$80/month for 10 cartridges. Plus shipping. Automatically. Yikes.

Almost everyone pretty quickly outgrows that style e-cig, and want something where the battery will last longer than a couple hours, and where they can fill something with more juice, and pick their own flavor juice. You MAY want to start with something shaped like a cigarette, and we can help you find a good deal - but THIS VENDOR IS A TERRIBLE DEAL.

Thanks. Yeah I saw the each 30 days bit too. My idea was get the starter kit for $9.99 and then worm out of the automatic billing right away.

I guess I'd better try to get out of this then. What would be a good cig-shaped one? I've seen Blu, but have heard it's average for this type of vaporizer. I'd like something that I can get a lot of nicotine out of. My brother-in-law has some sort of big metal pipe kind of device, and I used it a couple times. I liked it, but having that out in public would look like I'm getting high or something lol.

I will say though, one good puff from that thing and it felt like I had just had a whole cigarette, nicotine-wise.

Here's less, but about the same equipment as your $100 kit. For $11.95, if you REALLY want to start with something that looks like a cigarette. It's minimal - but that's fine, cause you'll probably want to step up soon.

To something like THIS, which is an even better starter kit - something you can vape on for a while.

Then you buy juice. Not my favorite, but good prices and a ton of variety and really popular. Actually, any one of their starter kits wouldn't be a bad way to go either - you could get everything in one place. For quite a bit less than that $100. And it's almost impossible to go through $80/month in Mt. Baker juice. I mean, you COULD - but you'd pretty much have to just breathe through your e-cig nonstop.

Good luck, and happy vaping!!

Hey thanks, those both look good. I think I'll get the cheap one to start with... I mean $12, that's nothing really. Should be enough to decide whether I want to step up in the future.

Oh .....! Sneaky .......s. Yeah I'm contacting the credit card company ASAP, and will return it unopened. I read it as it was just for the refill pack. What a bunch of jerks.

Good pickup up Train. I was gonna point that out too but...

That piece of garbage can be had on DealExtreme for $2.99 or less. $99.99 retail value - can you site web site obscenity as a reason to dispute the charge? Completely off the wall.
