Dotma- i am in the same boat as you. i started with 18mg and vaped it happily for about 8 months, then dropped to 16 and 12..... 3 months ago i dropped to 6mg and after 3 months, i was "ok" with it, but always knowing i wanted little more TH. i even used up 60 ml of 0mg. when i ran out of juice, i had to resort to a bottle i had on hand (it was 18mg) and BOOM! thats what i was missing! the th was amazing and few days ago i made another juice order, half in 12mg/ half in 6mg.
i think 12 mg is my sweet spot....i wish i didnt miss th as much as i do, then i could go down to 0....or 6.

its very true that the most dangerous chemicals in cigarettes does not include the nicotine. however, just like any stimulant, nicotine taxes your heart. its not a major concern for most people, but any doctor will tell you that too much stimulant will not be good for your heart.

I'm 2 years at 24mg. It's not the nic that hurts you. It was the other chemicals in tobacco that was the cuplrit. I plan to eventually reduce my nic, but I don't plan on ever getting below 12mg.

When I dropped from 24mg to 18mg I bought flavours in both 24mg and 18mg - rubbed off the mg markings and vaped them - couldn't tell the difference and so ordered 18mg from then on lol.

I'm sure it's more obvious with bigger jumps, but for me, that 6mg difference, I couldn't tell which one I was vaping at all.

I'm at 12 but, it was a rough road getting here. Started at 24 after a few weeks it started making me sick. Dropped to 12 and vaped like a fiend. Went up to 18 which worked better but, after a few weeks it started making me sick too. Back to 12. It no longer made me vape fiendishly and it's where I've stayed. I used to keep 24 around for crave times but, those have slacked off. Now, I might use a little when I'm stressed but, not much. I can feel the nic with just a few hits. I'm not the least tempted to go back on a regular basis. If you are, maybe you should.

I do have to thank those people on here that assured me that whole bouncing nic thing wasn't that abnormal. Without them I probably would have given up.

The most I can really tolerate is 12mg nic, once it gets higher I find the peppery nicotine taste offputting. Honestly I am super confused as to how people can vape 24mg etc. I smoked marlboro reds with no problem, but the chemical throat kick of high nic makes me cough. Almost all of my friends smoke (10 + people) and they have had the exact same experience to the point where they are off put by the ecig because its so harsh unless the mg is dropped to 12 or lower (approx). This is with even high VG juice and a wet atomizer, cartomizer etc.

When I first tried an ecig in 2009 I ordered 36mg and it was like smoking vaporized turpentine. I wish I could vape higher nic as I like the psychological effects but can't stand the throat burn. I guess I am the opposite of most people here. Is it a case of people getting used to the huge throat hit? Cigarettes have a full bodied tingly hit that fills your lungs, not a giant burn down the throat.

This has confused me for years :p I am guessing it is a combination of people getting used to it, or not actually inhaling it and using their ecig more like a cigar. The high nic even burns my nose though.

and you are sure it is the nic that is causing that sensation? are you using more than 1 kind of liquid and they all behave the same way?

it sounds to me that its the type of PV rather than the juice causing this. i have noticed the "full-bodied tingly hit that fills your lungs" that you speak of. i get it from my PV now. i didnt get it with KR8s. i got it a little with my eGo, but i get it full-bore with my SmokBox. i had gone from being medium-satisfied with e-cigs to actually preferring them over analogs. it was a tough road but i made it :D

I for one do not like the argument that it wasn't the nicotine that was bad. If you can be satisfied dropping down, why wouldn't you want to? Yes I enjoy vaping but I dont like being addicted to anything. I am about ready to drop down to 6 and looking forward to the day where I will be satified without nicotine!

Your choice and I have no argument with it. However, I did quit smoking cold turkey for over 10 years and there wasn't a week in all that time that passed when at some point, I didn't want a cigarette. Most of the time it was a lot more often than that. A divorce drove me back to it but, I'll take the addiction over the constant effort required to resist the addiction. As long as it's not killing me, I'll live with it.
