I screwed up modding my ce2 r4 xl carto - need advice from the experts!

I did a tea bag mod on my carto. I was pulling out the long wicking strings from each side of the coil..the ones that run down the side of the inside of the cart. Well, I accidentally pulled too hard and the wick came out from between the coil. Did I ruin it? I did put the tea bags down the sides, and then put juice in it..tried to vape..and got very little. I am guessing u need the string to run inside that coil eh!

Anyone know if I can fix this somehow? If so, does that mean I have to take the cylindar off, and expose the atty and try run it back through the coil? I still got a tiny piece of string I saved. But it looks too complicated to do. I don't wanna waste this carto if I don't have to.

It's possible to fix, but probably more trouble that it is worth.
Yes, the coils do need to be wrapped tightly around some form of wick so that the coils actually touch the wick...like the silica rope used in a CE2. To rebuild yours and have it last any time at all, and work half way decent, you'd probably want to rewind the coil tightly to the wick...and it might be too brittle and break anyway if it's been used much.

Some people actually rebuild these coils when they blow using fresh nichrome wire. With the CE2 it most likely requires some soldering skills to do this.

With a Vortex carto (CE2 like, but at the bottom of the Carto instead of at the top)...you can just wind a new coil and pop it right in if you have the right wire and some silica rope at hand Of course you can seek out the wire from an electronic supply house, but Nhaler offers a kit that takes some of the guess work out of it. Don't throw away the sleeve and wicking materal of your CE2 if you give up on this one, they might come in handy for another project down the road

If you cut larger notches in the side of the rubber stopper that sits on top of the ceramic cup, where the wicking material meets the top, you won't need to do the teabag mod.

Ive used and experimented with a lot of ce2's and mods, and the notch is the easiest and most effective.

That and putting everything inside the barrel of a 5ml syringe, makes an almost indestructible home-made clearomizer

So let me see if I got this straight! Would I would do, is cut slits in the plastic ring that goes inside, then take the wicking rope and put it through across the middle of the plastic ring, then set the ring overtop of the atty?

Take the ring out. Take the cap out. Under the cap, the two notches that sit over the wicking rope, make them bigger. Put it all back together as normal.

I just did the teabag mod yesterday and luckily all went fine. But recently by mistake I completely removed the wick from a regular 510 atty. I replaced it with some CE2 wick (2/3 turns around the bridge) which I had avalable at the time. I used a small piece of magnet wire to guide the wick through the bridge. The wire was flexible yet hard enough to be inserted in small places like a bridge or a coil. I mean you can use the same method to reinsert the thread into the coil if you wish to.
