I get burning electronics/ozone smell alot, freaked me out at first as I kept thinking my mod was about to go boom. But started noticing it when I was nowhere near my mods, or really any electronics. My personal theory is it has to do with regrowing some of the damaged nerves from smoking, or smelling something new that you couldn't smell before and your brain classifying it as something else. I don't think it's directly related to vape, but not smoking, anyway.

Some nic bases have an odd chemical smell. I bought some in 2013 that had a rather pungent smell. Like kerosene or rubber. I sent it back and the replacement bottle had a similar but much fainter smell.

I've tried all the big name suppliers. Even in a flavored mix I can still smell the nic base and identify which brand it is most of the time.

I doubt this is the case with the OP but it's at least in the realm of possibility. Are the juices you are smelling gas in from the same vendor? Even if not, many vendors use the same suppliers.

You can smell nic base in any mix. Just smell the drip tip after a vape. It's always there and ranges from slightly ashy, to a tobacco note, a woody note, to a chemical note, to a petroleum note. Even "musty" but pleasant is in the realm of normal nic base smell. It's rarely strong enough to be unpleasant no matter who the supplier is though.

I vape unflavored about 50% of the time and have grown quite fond of several nic bases. They have a unique flavor all on their own. Unflavored doesn't = no flavor.

I figured out what the problem is was the reason life smelled like ^&%^^% or gasoline but mostly like (*^*&%* freaking sinus infection had gotten really bad it took 3 ten day treatments of antibiotics plus instead of saline spray doctor had me purchase a Neti Pot and use it twice a day the phantom smells went away almost instantly after I started using the neti pot but the infection was a pain to get rid of this time. Anyone thinking about using a neti pot make sure you use distilled water never use tap water unless you want a brain infection that can't be cured it's actually a parasite infection that there is know known cure for I forget the name of the parasite but it has been in the news lately

Neti pots are awesome.

Mixing juice, especially by weight, is easy as can be. I make a Mothers Milk/Unicorn Milk clone that is absolutely delicious. I don't know how it compares to the original but it's definitely my ADV. It seriously takes me longer to take everything out of my vape storage closet than the actual mixing takes, and mixing by weight makes cleanup a breeze.

Hope your sinus infection is clearing up!

Just to put your mind a little at ease in CASE you try mixing - you have 100 mg nic confused with "pure" nic.
Nicotine IS dangerous, and you'd be nutz to handle it. It requires special ventilation, protective gear, etc. But 100 mg nic is a 10% solution, and a lot of us handle it all the time. I'm sorta careful, but a little on skin has cause me no reaction whatsoever. Some folks wear rubber gloves...

Anyway - I hope you figure it out.
Changing flavors is probably the best bet. A TOTAL change perhaps - try a different brand, try "citrus" or something totally different. This COULD be a variety of "vapers tongue" - where your taste sensation becomes temporarily confused by the flavors you typically vape...

maybe I have a sinus infection this is so freaking frustrating thanks to everyone for your replies so far

I just found a place called heartland vapes they charge $30 for 1000 ml 50pg/50vg with nicotine and the nic ranges from 3 mg all the way up to your dead if you spell any on your skin and someone starts singing the hearse song 100 mg

Actually, that makes TOTAL sense.
I have, in the past, told my doctors that I KNOW, no question about it, when I have a sinus infection rather than just a cold. It's because of a change in my sense of taste and smell - and I can see what I've experienced being similar to a smell of gas or something like that. WIth me it's more subtle - but it's the "taste/smell of an infection" lol.

GLAD you figured it out!!

So this may appear OT, but bear with me....

I build gennies. And anyone who builds gennies with mesh has probably suffered through some NASTY dry hits with the mesh wicking. And even if you fix your genny to vape properly--you will taste 'dry hit' until you take a break, and drink some lemon water or eat a sammich or something.
The taste of a dry hit is unforgettable. God knows i've tried to forget...

When i pump gas, or drive past a gas station, especially in winter, i am immediately reminded of a dry hit on a genny. Go figure
