I think i killed my atomizer. Any way to revive it?

so today, i was vaping along and didnt realize the tank was about empty when i suddenly noticed this foul burnt taste instead of delicious peach/tobacco. i pulled apart the atomizer and rinsed the spike part real good in hot water and set it out to dry. the bottom of the wick was pretty dark but cleaned up good. the coil in the atomizer is dark and smells burnt. is there anything i can do to revive this one?

i made the mistake of not ordering spares sooner, but i should be receiving a 5 pack later this week.

First, soak it in warm hydrog peroxide. If that doesn't work if you can exspose the coils you can dry burn it slowing my pulsing it untill you get all the coil to light up and then run it under water to get the ash out. Dry burning is a touchy thing it can fix all or pop the coil and ruin it.

how would i go about exposing the coils?

run it under water right after it lights up red hot?

im not too sure i trust myself doing that just yet, lol. not untill i get those spares in anyways.

I am not sure about your model. I wouldn't dry burn unless you can see the coils. You want to pulse the power on and off to burn the burnt off the coils. slow and easy untill all the coils light red then stop. Allow it to cools a second then run it under water to get the burnt ash off the coil.

it depends on what type of atty you have, as to what you can do.

AFAIK, it's an ego c type a atty.

I'll try the dry burn thing. I found I can get it to turn on by taking a drag on the battery end so I'm not sticking glowing hot coils in my mouth.

Just did the dry burn and rinse thing and so far so good. I dried it off as well as I could with paper towels and it's now sitting between two silica packs to help pull moisture away from it. How long should I wait before I test it out?

once the wick is dry you are good to go.

I've been pretty rough during dry firing of my attys in a pinch - even when they're caked with crap. I just keep dry firing them, sometimes for 5 seconds without them popping when they're heavily soiled (I think you can dry fire for longer when they're dirtier).

Of course, I'm not recommending this as best practice, but I've managed to overhaul an atty on the road this way when I didn't have time for soaking. And I didn't even use water. At all. I did, however, remove the wick first.
