I don't understand boiling them either. They have not been filled with something germ laden that needs to be sanitized. A vodka soak (kills germs if that is what is needed) and hot water flush cleans them well, and gets rid of previous flavor. I think "boiling them" is something a man came up with. Someone who has not been involved enough with cleaning to understand the semantics involved. Talk about overkill!

You go Gramva :headbang:

i disagree... most men would head straight for the alcohol! (but then again they might have considered that alcohol abuse not to drink it instead)

As opposed to actually boling the cartos in water, rather I use a "Glad" plastic bowl like sandwhich meat comes in, fill about 1/3 with water, heat to boiling in the microwave (2~3 minutes) and then dump the cartos in (with mouth piece caps removed). Stir them about with something to swish the things around a bit. Drain and repeat about 3 times. I sit them out to dry with the battery connector end up for a couple of days to dry. That has worked well for me for me. Oh and sometimes for faster drying, I will blow them out to remove some of the water. Granted in the past I've put more effort into the process but the return on the time investment is hardly worth it. OK, I'm a bit lazy but I'd rather spend my time doing something else. LOL, I'm a KISS person (Keep it Simple Stupid).
