I swore to myself now that I am not going to buy anymore cheap priced batteries, etc. (I now own about 10). I am saving myself for a PV as good quality wise as a ProVari. but something smaller like an ego. I just haven't come across exactly what I want yet. I spent way too much now on cheap, disposable stuff and I could have aleady owned a GG or something. lol. (No offence to absolutely anyone here; vapers or suppliers.)

Well. I tried to resist and just ended up ordering 20 gotvapes Phoenix cartos, a new drip tip and more juice.

Time to lock my wallet in the safe lol

Honestly I haven't spent this much money on vape toys in over a year and have had an extremely low upkeep after finding a juice and system that was working for me. But my vendor ran out of stock on the juice, and none of my backup juices perform well in an 808 carto.

Hence the slippery slope of ego upgrades, toys, and juices. Ahhhh

Now to stalk the mailman. :p

I think I may have to slow the shopping down a little myself.....it`s pretty bad when hubby asks, `what is arriving in the mail this week`.....:glare:

At least he doesn't do like my hubby does when he knows I am waiting for a pkg... He races to the mailbox and runs like a bat out of hell with my package 8-o and then I have to wrestle him to grab it back and when that doesn't work I tell him he is gonna get hit with a pan soon.. lol

Somebody's gonna get hurt real baaaad.... NOT gona say who.. BUT Somebody.. hehe!

I love it when Russell Peters does this act

Well. Got the first package today. And well. I hate the juice I ordered. I'm not going to mention the vendor but won't be ordering there again. All of the juices are horrid. Thankfully they were samples.

The only one that's barely tolerable is the menthol, and I'm sure that's just the menthol overpowering the taste of the base. I did get a few new cartos though, so not all bad. Hopefully I get my next juice order Monday! Will have to suffer through the weekend with some crappy backups :-(

Obviously not knowing who you ordered from, let the juices sit for a week or two, sometimes makes a big difference. Were these juices reco'd thru ECF? I'm building up a big juice lot for sale myself but at the same time have fallen in love with some juices. It's like gambling... don't give up yet tho. State what would appeal to you and some of us can maybe help out.

Ya. Sitting isn't going to fix these. I didn't try them on a recommendation. It was more out of convenience. I should really know better by now with tobacco juices. I'm sure these would be great if you like the taste of a Dekang flu cured because the flavour is EXTREMELY strong. But that odd sweet "american" tobacco makes me gag. I can't put my finger on the taste/smell. But damn.

If there's someone here who actually likes that flavour profile, shoot me a pm. You may just earn 3 15ml bottles of juice lol

As for recommendations. I have a few juices already that I REALLY like, and they're in transit. So no worries there.:)

Excuse me for the rant but... if my stuff would stop breaking, if my stuff would work properly, if the juices I ordered were all delicious (to me), if I didn't need extras to help make what I have that works, working better, I might not have spent nearly as much as I have. If there was a B&M store where I could see things, hold them, try things out, I wouldn't have spent as much as I have. If I didn't have to pay so much for shipping costs, for returns, order more to justify shipping, etc. I wouldn't have spent as much as I have. Yes I like my groovy drip tips and my mods and my tanks, but if I added it all up I'd say there is a lot of wasted $$$.

This is why i love the two mods i have. After reading up on them, watching countless ultimate and "normal" torture tests, reading about averages on life, then seeing that the saber touch is made of the highest aircraft aluminum, finding the sweet spot then tough as all get out tanks and star dusts (i have a version three here, and lets face it....if it does not crack and put up with what i do to them, they have to be tough) i found the prefect fog machine makers :D

View attachment 109472 (this is why i can only use it in the man cave, with the windows open and the fans blowing LOL, and yes that is a very bright light on as well)

I think you need to stop shopping.

So do I....as a intervention, you should pass your bank over to someone else, let them shop for you :D

LOL! Mine does almost the same thing. He vapes too and loves opening packages just as much as I do. I always get him to give it up when I say "Oh wait, look... it's addressed to ME! :p" Bahahahahaha. If I get a good vape mail day with more than one package I share :D

Snip - Seeing as I seem to have gotten on a soapbox here I might as well add this to any reviewers out there who have lasted reading to this point....

PLEASE if you loved something when you got it and then suddenly a few weeks down the road it isn't performing just as well, a quick follow up either in video or even a post in the original review would be appreciated. Alot of us look to you for advice and buy on what you have said.

Nothing bothers me more than a reviewer praising something in a review and a week or two later praise something else and in the comments mention how the thing they just reviewed a few weeks ago and loved they now are having problems with so they like this new thing better. If someone wasn't interested in that review as well they would never know. - Snip

I agree that some reviewers and some reviews are better than others, so when I generalize my comments about reviews I realize that I may offend some who post reviews, because some points I make will not pertain to them. I'll chance it anyway.

Most reviews of e-cigs I have seen would be better labeled to state, "My first impression of ...". Please, if you don't know how long the battery lasts (or how long the battery takes to charge), you probably haven't used it enough to give a review. It would be nice to see "After 1 week", or "2 week report" to see how it actually works in real use.

Wasting 5 minutes blowing clouds of vapor at the camera only tells us that the battery is providing electricity to the carto. A puff to show that it works would be fine. Conciseness is appreciated. That's all I will say about being concise!

If you have an in-line meter, an oscilloscope, and an MRI, surely you have a ruler! "Smaller than a bread box" or "nearly as long as my arm" are rather vague comparisons. Also, comparing it to another PV that a person may or may not have is not as helpful as an accurate measurement (doesn't have to be digital). Nearly everyone has a ruler or tape measure.

A review should have more information than what I can get from a product description page or that I can get from looking at a photo. The rush to be one of the first with a review should be tempered with the desire to be the first to provide useful information.

At the risk of hi-jacking this thread, I am sure we could start a separate thread on the topic of reviews.

Back on topic, I have saved more than I have spent. I have a reserve built up that will last at least 6 months. I don't stock-pile juice but I do have DIY supplies on hand and try to keep at least 2 weeks ahead on making juice so that it has steeped before I use it. I stocked up on the Star Dust when they came out and have learned to not do that again! I am using them (until they start leaking) in a rotation with other clearos and (hopefully) Vivi Nova 2.5. It remains to be seen if the 2.5 will prove to be worth getting replacement heads or rebuilding them.

I still spend money occasionally, but it is money saved specifically and I don't go over what I have saved.

I am Relaxing and Enjoying!

I think this one bothers me more than just about anything else. I can't count how many times I've looked at a vid and said.. OOO.. 10-15 minute review of a device I'm considering.. then I get about half way into it, and they're just sitting there vaping on it over and over for about 5-6 minutes.. Sorry folks, that's not useful content. A puff here and there is good, or if you're testing a VV device, timed puffs at different voltages to show it's working as advertised is good enough if you don't have the equipment to show what's actually happening.

The only time I think multiple consecutive puffs are warranted is if you're reviewing a carto/tank/atty, but please for the love of god, is a little commentary in between each too much to ask?

Not trying to call anyone out here, but:

If you want an example of a decent, well constructed review, I'd check out SteelJan's review of the phoenix carto (or almost any other review of hers).

If you want to know what not to do, check out GotVapes iTaste VV product intro. I think 3-4 times in the vid he just re-arranged the product on the pedistal he had set up. I know what he was trying to accomplish, but not really useful in the grand scheme of things, and could have saved 2 minutes on his video length with a little post-production editing.

Back on topic.. Package number 2 shows delivered today with my new twists. Unfortunately, my juice order arrived at the distribution centre about an hour too late, and won't be delivered until tomorrow :(

Well. Got my new twists today. This is one seriously solid (feeling) unit. Will post a full review once I've had a few days to burn these 1000mah batteries out a couple times. Initial thoughts are highly positive though a little longer than I thought they would be. With a stardust, it's about the size of a large Cuban lol. Details to follow :D
