Just got my order in from madvapes, super fast too. Stressed myself out installing a new stove for the last 2 hours and decided to give the cartos a try. Used the condom method to fill one up, gave it a few seconds to soak up all that juice, then took my first hit. I think it may actually be better than dripping at this point. The flavor is much stronger than dripping for me. Now I'm just hoping I don't burn the filler by vaping too much too fast.

Depends on what you're using and how much you vape. I use Turbo cartos from Cigeasy and Vapornine on a KR808d-1 model e-cig and the carto will last me a good 10-14 hours of consistent vaping (I don't chain vape though)- I've had them last twenty-four hours many times. Easy to re-fill, no muss, no fuss, just vape away and consistent taste and vapor.

Take note of the flavor as you vape.

As soon as you notice a drop-off in flavor, refill the carto. You might not need to refill it completely and might have to refill more often, but it's better to be safe than sorry!

This is Very good advice. Don't vape a carto dry.

As to how long a carto lasts? Dunno how much you're going to use it. But for me. An ex PAD smoker, I use 2 cartos a day. Neither one is dry, each is about 1/2 empty. So it comes down to about one carto a day.

FYI - Most 510 cartos hold about 20 or so drops. 20 drops is 1ml. So I'm vaping about 1ml a day.

I was at about half a pack a day, but I only smoked at work. Now I'm up to 3ml a day vaping every chance I get :2cool:. I really only use the ecig as a placebo to satisfy the hand to mouth habit, so I'm only vaping about 9-10 mg. I could probably go ahead and drop to 0 nic, but I want to vape all of this liquid I have before I do that. I've already posted a couple of the liquids I didn't like in the classifieds.

Dang Boy !!! 3ml a Day. I though I vaped alot.

3ml a day of 10mg juice is 30mg of nicotine a day. That's a little bit more than a pack of Pal-Mal Red non-filters.

I assume it's 3ml a day, I have to refill my 3ml bottle every morning. I only drip, so I have been known to flood attys a few times a day. I'm sure my actual intake is somewhere around 2ml or a little less. On top of that, I do not believe at all that I am getting 10mg/ml of nicotine by vaping. It's probably something significantly less than that. I've done a lot of reading on this subject, but have never seen any definite answer on how much nicotine absorption we get from vaping. I do agree that I may be getting way more nicotine that I was from smoking, but that's just because I'm vaping continuously all day. :2cool:

I tend to agree with that. I can't seem to finda any good info on it either. It can't be 100% of the amount taken in. If it was, there would be no vapor when you exhale.

40%, 60%, 80% ???

You would think with all the hoopla about states banning sales and what seems like limitless money to do this study on rats or that study on chimps that someone would have published some info on just how much nicotine is actualy absorbed?

(Wow, No that was a Run-On Sentence!)

Found the study: Untitled Document

(Highlighting mine)
Results Over 60 min, participants using 16 mg ENDD recorded 0.82 units less desire to smoke than the placebo ENDD (p=0.006). No difference in desire to smoke was found between 16 mg ENDD and inhalator. ENDDs were more pleasant to use than inhalator (p=0.016) and produced less irritation of mouth and throat (p<0.001). On average, the ENDD increased serum nicotine to a peak of 1.3 ng/ml in 19.6 min, the inhalator to 2.1 ng/ml in 32 min and cigarettes to 13.4 ng/ml in 14.3 min.

So, each puff on an e-cig (Called ENDD in the study) is equal to 1/10th of a puff on a cigarette. (1.3 for ENDD compared to 13.4 Cigarette)

Edit: (the study used 16mg liquid. Adjust up or down for your mg usage)

This is the kind of stuff I would like to see made sticky in it’s own section. If the ECF mods haven’t done it all readey.

The study does have some nice statistical qualities. It was conducted with a 95% confidence interval and the “power rating” (p-value) is good. The sample size is small but not unacceptable for this level of testing. I would have liked to know about how the “average” nicotine serum level was calculated but that wasn’t the purpose of the test.

What I didn’t like is who sponsored the test. Statistical analysis can get skewed when the people who pay for the study don’t like the results. Many time, future funding is based on present results.

But that said, it would seem reasonable that using an e-Cig does curve craving for analogs.

Ran across Dogsbody's thread in the tips and tricks area on a no-filler carto mod for dripping. I decided to try it, and after breaking the first carto, I got it right on the second one. I put about 10 drops into the empty carto and started vaping away. It works about the same as with the filler, but I don't have to worry about it going dry and burning the filler. I think I'll carry my regular cartos to work, and use the NF cartos at home. I'm hoping to get away from having to carry a bottle of liquid with me everywhere.
