I think it may be time for a new charger

I picked up a Hana mod (no clone crap) and 2 VTC5 batteries. My charger doesn't seem to give them quite a full charge, as it did my IMRs etc. I have a Trustfire TR-001. Any suggestions for a charger with a little more kick to give these babies a full charge every time?

I have an xtar vp1 and works wonderfully. They have a vp2 also.

First, welcome to the forum. What voltage are your batteries right off the charger?

I've thrown my Trustfire charger in the draw as a backup years ago and have since turned to the XTRA charger two years later still working, I highly recommend them.

Just got a new d4 nitcore intellicharger and its the best charger I have owned yet. Checking with the multimeter batts coming out perfect 4.2. Fast tech site sells for something like 30 dollars i think.

I decided to to give my Pila charger a rest. I have been using the Xtar VP2. It's a great unit.

One of the local shops here carries a nitcore i2 I may pick that up today.

I ordered a D2 today. I figured for $5 more than my i2, I'd try it out.

My i2 is still working, but only 1 slot. 18-19 months seems a fair result.

Pila or Xtar. When it comes to technology and quality NiteCore is on par with Trustfire.

Pila and Xtar are well respected brands. Trustfire reliability is dependent upon whether you received a good one or not. There were some bad power cords shipped for a while.

My old Trustfire TR-001 never missed a lick in the years I have used it. It's plain jane but effective. I still carry it on trips because it's compact.

I have two 4 bay chargers I've bought over the years and they both do a good job. There's the Nitecore Intellicharger I4 that shows me simple charge level with 3 blinking LEDS (but doesn't display current voltage) and it's been reliable and efficient.

I recently bought an Efest LUC 4 quad bay charger that shows four independent cell voltages as they charge. The LUC also doubles as a USB power source. You can unplug it from the wall and load it up with charged batteries and it becomes a portable USB charger for devices that can charge through USB. Its capacity is dependent on the MAH rating of the batteries. If you put four 2500mah batts in it, you have 10000mah of USB charging capacity.

Nitecore Intellicharger I4 takes my Sony's to 4.18V and my Samsung's to 4.16 every time since day one to now. 8 months now,works for me.

Well, shucks! I only glossed over the USB part of the manual and read this overview. I took it to be able to sum the batteries in the channels for USB power mode. Still, it's a good charger. The USB mode was only something I'd use in a power outage. Oh, well ... I still have USB charging ports in both my vehicles! They just aren't portable.
