I think my AGA T3 has a thing against mech mods

so i have an AGA T3 setup with an almost solid 500 ss mesh wick and a 1.3ish ohm 3 wrap of 28 gauge. On a sigelei zmax at 4.0 volts the thing works flawlessly, clouds, no dry hits, no shorts or hot spots but then i throw it on my Chi-You or sigelei 19b with a freshly charged battery and it vapes like blu cig, something has to be wrong, i have a pro tank with a 1.5 ohm stock head on the Chi-You right now with a 18450 thats at about 3.9 volts maybe 3.8 and its great, and i have had no problems with any of my rebuildable dripping attys so whats the deal

I think it may have something to do with the different guages of wire your using getting different kinds of vape.even though they are similar ohm ratings.I started out using 29 or 28 gauge wire on my T3 I think about .8 to 1 ohms, but i found a better fit for that atty was a twisted wire coil.it heated up faster and that seemed to work better.

I use triple twisted 32 guage.
I have mine running with a 500 mesh sleeved 1/16" ss cable that I got at tractor supply. Cable is fully sleeved, not just the top where the coil goes. Ran a 4/3 coil of .8mm ribbon kanthal (.8ohms). Thing hits like a champ. I tried twisted 30g, and 28g. They took forever to heat up. The ribbon works perfectly.

Ummmm... you might want to try 28 kanthal wrapped 4/3 on that wick, it works really well for me at .8 ohm on my mechs and in an AGA-T2. I've never used a regulated mod so I can't speak to the results you get with that, but I've never gotten bad results from my RBA's on my mechs using 28 kanthal that way, but then I never did a 1.3 ohm coil either. It's not what I have mechs for.

1.3 ohms is fine for a regulated mod, they won't go sub-ohm, but on your mech just try that 4/3 .8 ohm coil and see how it works for you. I think you might be pleasantly surprised. Just be sure you are using the right batteries first, like the red AW IMR's or the red Efests, and I'd recommend the 18650's too.

Are you sure about the gauge of your kanthal? 1.3 ohms seems awfully high for 3 wraps. 3 wraps of 28 gauge gets me around .6 ohms. 1.3 ohms though with a solid mesh wick is a little high for a mechanical mod with a genesis atomizer. The mesh acts as a heat sink. You not only need to heat up you kanthal, you also need to heat up your mesh wick which can take a lot with a solid wick.
