maybe someone can help me turn off my proto-type ego. i can't specify what ego it is, all i know it has a puff counter on it. maybe my vendor could help me, but no way i can reach him atm it's 10pm. it nearly fried my pocket and my hh.357.

it says it's charging, but it's not on the charger. can anyone help me? it has a 5-click shut off as well but it's not responding to my clicks. needless to say it's just kinda outside sitting there waiting for a possible "boom".

if it's still like that after i get back from work... well i'll be damned.

well it's outisdie somewhere i just brought it back in and it says it's just charging. if i put something on it like a cart i dont care about anymore, it will shut off. i'm thinking the button/battery terminal got pushed down while it was in my pocket. scary scary scary thing that almost happened. i'm going to let the battery drain and see if i can just hook it up to a charger and see what happens then.

should i try pry up the button in the post? idk if it'll electrocute me though =S

LION battery (the type used in most rechargeable electronics) are typically very safe, but when they go bad, they do so spectacularly. If you are genuinely worried about your battery exploding you need to remove it from your house (they can emit noxious fumes) and place it in a non-flammable container (such as an empty metal garbage can) and keep it in an area away from your house with as little flammable material nearby as possible. Replacing a battery is cheap, replacing anything within six feet of a battery going bad isn't so much.

I wouldn't do anything with the battery until the charge is gone. You aren't likely to electrocute yourself, but on the off chance that it really is going to explode or ignite, you do not want to be in the immediate area. Keep it outside and keep an eye on it until it dies.

hmm i need a metal garbage can then. (sigh) it was a prototype i bought so i wasn't expecting it to last long, but this was... unexpected. bah. glad i still have my 2 other ego's, pass-throu, and vmod at hand.
If you don't have a garbage can, you can also use a metal bucket/pail, canister, or even a cooking pot. Just be aware that LION batteries do burn hot when they ignite so you may not be getting back whatever you put it in. Good luck!

Do you have a cast iron skillet, or cast iron pot? Cast iron is nigh on indestructible. If so, put the battery on some concrete - or something like a paver stone, (outside), and then invert the cast iron over it and just leave it be for a few days. Once it is fully discharged, toss it into the trash - outside.

i put it in my fire pit in the back yard. it has a safety mesh to catch anything that may spew from it so it's in a safe area. i left off the dead cart so it can discharge.
Good call. I'd recommend reaching out to your distributor when you can tomorrow or the manufacturer to see if you can get a new one, but I strongly suggest that you not mess with this battery any longer until you know for certain what is wrong with it. I hope you have a good night!

What would happen if it were put into a bucket of water?
Electronics die quickly in water. :D
You'd probably short it out and void any warranty. I'd suggest keeping it dry and just away from anything that can be damaged so that he can turn it back in to his distributor/manufacturer. This will have the dual purpose of potentially getting him a free replacement so he isn't out any cash and if there is a defect with the product that the manufacturer isn't aware of, this will alert them to the issue.

well the devil has it now. i'm afraid to put it on a charger. i'll be visiting my vendor today at the mall later. after a beer or two, hopefully i'll forget all about this battery.

i wanted to use it to see how many buffs i get before i have to refill my giant clear-o-mizer. oh well =\

i'm not even mad about the battery however, i'm mad it made my first hh.357 vape's taste like burnt toast T_T.
