Today will be day 10 completely off the analogs. Up to this point, I've been doing great. So great, that I even got my husband interested in the whole scene, and he's always thought that it was silly. I told him that while other smoking cessation devices remove the NEED for a cigarette, the e-cig removes the WANT, which is amazing. Now I'm a liar because I want an analog so bad right now it's barely tolerable. I don't understand why. After 10 days just all of a sudden...

Anyone else?

I too had this sensation. I took some drags off a higher nicotine cart and it seemed to soothe the beast. Now, I vape mainly 0 nic stuff, but am finding that if I don't keep some 24mg juice for those "moments" then I start jonesing really bad. They are getting fewer and farther between, but I still get them. Keep it up and it will be fine. Try to find some juice with a little higher strength than what you use now and when those cravings really hit, take a puff or three off the higher nic stuff. You can do it!

I'll admit, I smoked a cig a few times within the first 15 days of smoking, but it sucked so bad and didn't give me any of those head spinning effects I used to love, so it helped me realize that my love affair wasn't being reciprocated.

After that (combined with the nasty smell it left on me that made me want to yack), I just kind of fell out of love with them, and really haven't cared to try one or thought about them since.

Actually I am almost at 6 months. I get that feeling if I start drinking more then a couple beers... Then I decided to actually smoke one. It tasted terrible and I couldn't get the taste off my tongue or the smell off my hands/clothes. It was a great reminder of how much better vaping is to me... I have done this three times now since after my 3rd day of quitting analogs. I also have smoked 3 cigars, but I dont count them.

I've been vaping since ... what ... November of last year ... have to wait to post this and see what my signature says :p.

Anyway, I went for about four months without smoking or especially wanting to, then bought a pack out of what amounted to curiosity. At the moment one pack lasts me about two weeks - I'll sometimes have a cigarette if I'm bored, or drinking alcohol (pretty rare). I'll have one, appreciate it for what it is, for whatever part of me still wants one occasionally, then happily go back to vaping and not think about smoking any more. I was a pack-a-day, Marlboro Reds 100s smoker before I discovered vaping.

I think this is a very individual, case-by-case thing, but for what it's worth, I recommend taking it easy on yourself when it comes to dealing with addictions. Do-or-die, THIS IS IT/NO MORE SMOKING EVER!!! attitudes seem to me to be piling stress onto what can be a pretty easy transition to vaping if you're more relaxed about it. If you want a cigarette to the point that it's driving you nuts, then my advice would be to smoke the damn thing, say "yecchh" and gain a new appreciation for all the advantages of vaping. Repeat as necessary.

That happened to me after a week without, and I still had two packs around the house. So, I went outside and lit up, took a drag... then another... and put it out. I couldn't stand the taste anymore.

My advice, if you feel the need for a smoke, try chain-vaping a bit first. If it doesn't go away, have an analog, and don't beat yourself up over it. The desire will drift away.

I had that last few hits on a cig on January 25, 2010. Tobacco-free since that day. W00t!

Yes vape some higher nic. Do NOT go buy smokes. Not even one...don't bum one.
Get something really bombad and vape it!!!

I was so stressed out the other day, I almost did the same thing.

I found the two highest nics juices I had left. Fortunately it was Atomic Cinnacide and I had a little hint of that Pillbox Black pepper stuff in my AFS.

Didn't taste half bad, but the TH was killer, and it got me through.

After 3 months without a cig, I still get the urge after I have a big ol meal. I thought driving would be the worst, but about 5 minutes after chowing down, I REALLY want a cig. Well, my cure for that came in a 100ml bottle of 24mg Boba's Bounty that I won this week (yay!). Had breakfast-for-dinner night last night (eggs, bacon, french toast...mmmmm) and the Boba's took that urge right away. I'm going to recommend a good high-mg tobacco juice to anyone quitting smoking from now on. I avoided tobacco flavors for awhile because I was afraid it would make me want a cig more, now I realize they cure the want :)

Definitely bump up the nic. It will help with the cravings of a cigarette. I am some 14 months in and I STILL have times like these; however, they are fewer and farther between and I know how to effectively deal with them.

Also, if you are using a cart, you might try to drip your usual nic juice and see if that helps before you have to up the nic content.

Best wishes on finding your happy vaping spot. :)

I think, like some others have said, that you should just smoke an analog when you really feel the desire. It's not likely you will stop vaping and go back to being a smoker. Instead, you'll see that smoking a cig. is no big deal or really not that different from vaping. Whenever I would smoke one once in a great while just after I started vaping I'd immediately want my pv again as soon as I got done with it. It was a little scary at first to learn the pv was more addictive than a cigarette. I suppose I'm okay with that fact now because I can really regulate (and reduce) my nicotine consumption.

I will say that after a week or two of vaping I was struck hardcore with the urge to have an analog, so I did and it was disgusting. The initial hit was great, and then the smell of ash and ugh it was bad. Plus i FELT bad. That kept me off them again.

I still have the urge from time to time, so I just grab my "urge o matic" carto with 36mg and take a few puffs before going back down to normal and wade through the urge.

It's fairly rare, but I still get those urges sometimes, just like people have urges for anything, like a bag of doritos for no reason, or a pizza with everything including the stuff you normally hate. The mind is funny that way :p

I have been off the analogs for about two weeks now, I still get cravings for analogs if I see them in a movie or on tv. I wouldn't call you a liar, you are just dealing with the addiction of all the other chemicals they put in cigarettes to make them more addictive. One more thing, make sure you have something special to do when you're craving, like a favorite snack or drinking that extra glass of wine (only if alcohol doesn't trigger your cravings). I hope you make it through it, and remember, we all here suffer from some sort of addiction to tobacco products.

I sometimes get that. Except whenever I give in I get absolutely no satisfaction from the analog and go right back to vaping. The worst was a couple weeks ago. I was having a few drinks with a friend and decided that since he was smoking I should have a couple too. The taste was terrible, there was no throat hit, I did not feel satisfied. So I stubbed it out and vaped some 28mg bubblegum juice and it was so yummy and satisfying. I think the main trick to being successful is to train yourself to crave vaping instead of the nasty analogs. When we first start we crave an analog and substitute it with a vape. Now I find I crave the vape and that makes it alot more satisfying.

Much luck!:toast:

Im with Harl and Dave - if the power of them is that much of a pull then have one. You'll soon see its not as great as you remember. If I get a massive urge to have one, then I have one, they aren't banned from me but its never satisfying, and always disappointing in some area. If its not TH or feeling then its taste. Usually they make me feel nauseous which is enough to reinforce the not wanting to go back into smoking.

Wow thanks for all the support and uplifting advice everyone!

I agree that I could probably have a cig and not suffer much from it.. However a while back before I indulged in a large assortment of juice and enough batteries to never run out of vape life, I remember having a cigarette just to sooth the urge after I'd been vaping for a couple weeks without tobacco.. Well the one cigarette turned into an every day thing and then just took over and I stopped vaping for a couple months before I bought all this juice to get me re-interested.

I get where the "just have one" advice is coming from.. But I don't think it will work for me. Yesterday when I had the urge I took the advice from quite a few of you and popped in some 48mg tastyfinger. That took care of it right quick!
