I've been vaping since ... what ... November of last year ... have to wait to post this and see what my signature says

.
Anyway, I went for about four months without smoking or especially wanting to, then bought a pack out of what amounted to curiosity. At the moment one pack lasts me about two weeks - I'll sometimes have a cigarette if I'm bored, or drinking alcohol (pretty rare). I'll have one, appreciate it for what it is, for whatever part of me still wants one occasionally, then happily go back to vaping and not think about smoking any more. I was a pack-a-day, Marlboro Reds 100s smoker before I discovered vaping.
I think this is a very individual, case-by-case thing, but for what it's worth, I recommend taking it easy on yourself when it comes to dealing with addictions. Do-or-die, THIS IS IT/NO MORE SMOKING EVER!!! attitudes seem to me to be piling stress onto what can be a pretty easy transition to vaping if you're more relaxed about it. If you want a cigarette to the point that it's driving you nuts, then my advice would be to smoke the damn thing, say "yecchh" and gain a new appreciation for all the advantages of vaping. Repeat as necessary.
