What if the (+) wire melt and happen to comes in touch with the housing? kaboom?I hope in that case, the protection feature of the battery will come in.
It would be a short as you've indicated in later posts. And if you use the wrong battery/device...could be bad.
That's why there are safety recommendations.
A) Use protected batteries and/or a PV device with short protection built in.
B) Use safer battery chemistries. IMR is often suggested. Particularly true for all-mechanical mods that don't have other protection.
C) Make sure the mod is well vented, so if the battery goes thermal, it doesn't go boom.
D) Store them properly, don't overheat them, I charge/use them in pairs and check occasionally with a multi-meter
E) See the manufacturer's requirements and vendor's recommendations on batteries and beware knock-offs.
