I'm putting on the flame suit now because I know it's going to be coming...

Pirates of the Caribbean : at worlds end

2 hours and 45 minute?? Really?

I went with my girlfriend and at the time I was still a smoker and walked out to have one in the middle of the film to relive the boredom.

If this was just a 2 hour movie and the plot moved along it might not have been so mind numbing. With all the stops trying to tie up all the loose ends from the previous movies this one just bored the hell out of me because the story didn't flow. Needless to say she never ran out of popcorn or drinks because I was always ready to get her another from the snack bar.

No flame here. I haven't seen it so I won't disagree, but I will acknowledge the point about length. Many movies are too long these days imo. Trainspotting is a good example of tight controlled storytelling and direction. Their goal was 90 minutes and they hit it. Once you hit that 2 hour mark it better be worth it. Dark Knight is one long movie that I think worked, but it's an exception.

Donning flame suit...

"The Matrix Reloaded"

... its not so much that I wanted the 2 hours back, more that I didn't like the 6 month wait to spend the another 2 hours on "The Matrix Revolutions". It felt like they had chopped one really long movie arbitrarily in half without coming to a satisfying enough resolution of things in the first to release it on its on. I remember being irritated at that state of affairs while walking out of the theater.

The Happening made me physically angry! I've never been so angry at pictures on a screen in my life. But I don't like much of anything Shyamalan has done. Signs, as someone else pointed out was ridiculous, and The Village was another stinker, it was like he threw a dart at a board of endings and went with it. On the other hand, if you have a few hours watch The Room, the best bad movie I've ever seen.

"I see dead people"... The Sixth sense is a very good show.

Gotta agree with you on Paranormal Experience!! 'The Scariest Movie in 20 Years' my ...! And, the part that got ME was it was given 5 STARS by every newspaper in Toronto!!

Anyway, we just hit the theatre on Friday night..do NOT see 'Solitary Man' with Michael Douglas. I was rooting for him to off himself in it. He doesn't. Boring as HELL.

Dang it, I like most of the movies that you all are saying you didn't like.

Yeah...I liked Dune.
I had read the books before the movie came out so I knew what was going on. The style of the film was odd, "artsy-fartsy" and fanciful with the Toto tunes, Sting etc. but if you had read the books you'd "get it". There was no other way to do it and be entertaining.

Not everybody likes Blade Runner either but it's one of my favorite sci-fi flicks.

The New Alice in Wonderland.

I totally agree. It was so bad, I actually took a nap in the middle of watching it with my kids. They didn't like it either. Just as bad as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The remake sucked . If it ain't broke don't fix it. The Alice from the SyFy channel was way better and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is one of my faves.
