Get a PILA or XTAR.

If you do a search you'll see a lot of problems with the nitecore.........that is just based on posts I've read here and doing a search on it.

I've never used one, I bought a PILA from Randy at RTD Vapor, when I started vaping, and it's going strong after almost 3 years with absolute perfection!

PS. quite a number of bad reviews on the 2014 nitecore on Amazon.com as well....

I love the PILA because I can just "drop in" the batts.

I hate messing around with sliders and springs. The latter is just more to "break", get stuck, etc.

However, PILA is only 2 bay, which may create a different kinda hassle for somebody else.

I believe the Xtar is drop in as well though?

Just way too many posts here on nitecores crapping out, last time this same question was asked:

My old Xtar WP2 II uses a sprung slider mechanism. It has served me well for two years now and is still going strong. If anyone wants to read good technical reviews of chargers, I suggest the lygte-info.dk website.

There are an awful lot of Nitecore chargers out there, but there are also a bunch of these chargers failing. OTOH, every other charger also has fails. IMO there are fewer Xtar chargers failing per 10,000 than Nitecore, but that's just just my feel for this product and I could be way off base. I also prefer the Xtar feature set over the Nitecore, but that's just my preference and your preference might be different.

Thanks for this thread...I'm also needing a new charger for six 18490 and four 18650 batts. I obviously don't expect to charge all batts at once. I have a Nitcore i2 now..has been great but left the power cord in Florida somewhere  and it's over a year old so I need an upgrade bad

Really leaning towards Xtar VP4 but read two conflicting pieces of info. One said channels are not independent and others say channels are?

Some people are saying some features were dropped that were pretty cool on the VP2??? Which one is better for charging numerous batts at one time/better features?

True... if I still had the power cord  Right now, I have ZERO chargers.
Google "nitecore power cord". They cost about $5.00.

I've been using a Nitecore Intellicharger i4 (four bay) for well over a year and haven't had any problem with it. They don't cost much on Amazon. Don't need anything fancier. I'm a big user of 18490/18500s so four bays is a nice convenience for me.

I just got an Xtar VP2 to accommodate my new 26650 mod, and I'm really happy with it. It handles different battery sizes at the same time very well, and I really like that you can change the output amps. I keep mine at .25 amps most of the time since slower charges are better for battery life, but it's nice to be able to crank it up if I'm in a hurry. I also like that it shows the current level while charging.
