goodbye
You all are so helpful!
thank you so much. I didn’t expect such great responses

Hi there, and welcome to the ECF forum. I started smoking in 1976 when I was 16, and smoked for 42 years. That came to an end in Sept 2018 when I started vaping. I started with the Juul, and within 3 or 4 days knew I would never smoke again. A little over a year now, and I'm just as excited about vaping and not smoking as the day I quit the stinkies. About a month after I quit with the Juul, I started looking for something better and found my local vape shops. I stayed on the nic salts for about 3 months or so, and then jumped to sub ohm vaping 6mg base liquid. I am down to 3mg now and just as satisfied with vaping as the day I started....even more so. I am now into rebuildables and enjoying it immensely. Being a part of the vaping community has been a very rewarding experience, both online and locally. So, congratulation on quitting. Stick with it. The rewards are immense and gratifying.

As you can see, you found a place with lots of good people to help you (both with advice about vaping and support)
I can't add much that others haven't said (except repeat the advice to have a backup device... mine stopped working and I panicked and ran down to the corner store and bought some cheapo cigarillos... yuck!) You will also save money so don't think about how much it costs at first (getting several devices, juice, extra coils ,ect) because if you do the match, smoking costs much more! I smoked a pack a day (here in California they cost $10) so was spending $300 a month. I'm low budget so can find you good deals... for example, need some new juices to try? Check this out:
Welcome Sample Pack - 4 Bottle Bonanza Extravaganza
It's very important to drink water... takes sips while you vape. Tell us what you are using and we can offer some suggestions.

I just measured my mix intake by the number of draws I did to last an hour. Much like smoking a cig per hour.

I started at 24mg and it worked right off the bat. I also used an rta with a lower nic content of I new that I I would vape more, like in front of the TV. More tanks of juice in the arsenal permits more flexibility.

Good luck.

Hey there! Been vaping for 2 years after years of smoking. Nothing else worked plus I love the hand mouth movement that reduces my stress a bit.

just had a complete physical and my respiratory rates are the tops!! No plans to stop just maybe go from 3 mgs to 1.5 mgs. I make my own juice normally so it’s easy.

I only use USDA kosher ingredients and all the flavors are free from oils, diacety, and other things not good for the lungs. And I only buy from reputable companies that have been around a long time and have the information readily available.

Make sure you only get products from reputable companies if you have any questions ask here. Someone will know. And that goes for batteries too!!

Good luck and Welcome!!

There are plenty of options !. Mouth To Lung (MTL) is probably what you are doing right now. Direct To Lung requires much more power, so a bigger device would be necessary for that.

Some vapers, such as myself, need a "Throat Hit" which, apparently, you don't really get from Nicotine Salts.

Once you've got into a regular vaping habit you could eventually start modifying how you vape over time to improve your vaping experience. Whatever it is you vape now may not be what you'll be vaping in a years time.

Lots of vapers "advance" or become advanced which may sound a little daunting. It will be knowledge which you'll accumulate over time.

You may decide for example that you want a device which holds more power so lasts longer between charges. That's a reason for buying a box mod. Same goes for tanks. Tank Atomizers hold more liquid. Then there's back ups, and back ups for your back ups. You can never have too many mods and atomizers.

Hi and welcome, when I started vaping none of my friends vaped and I didn't see many people vaping when I was out and about. Now some of my friends vape and I notice vapers whenever I'm out.
Some friends have found the transition easy and some are back n forth with smoking but that's to be expected as everyone's journey is similar but different at the same time if that makes any sense.
Whatever works for you is what works so don't buy into the hype about the newest and greatest, there will always be something new coming out and we can't try every mod and tank that comes out. I have a couple daily drivers that work for me, Pico mod with Kranger Subtank, Tesla 120 mod with OBS Engine rebuildable tank, which I switch up with a rda when I want or need bigger hits of nic, a Velocity or for flavour a Haliday rda, I have other tanks and rda' s that I use occasionally but the previous mentioned are my daily drivers.
Not high end equipment price wise but serviceable gear that has held up well. The Kanger Subtank is an oldy but a goody, over 5 years old and still works great, haven't had to even replace a gasket in that time.
What I find sad is a few people I know are so freaked out by the inaccurate news reporting that they are smoking cigs again cause they think it's safer that vaping.
Good luck on your journey, lots of great people on ecf with lots of knowledge to share so welcome.
