I want to love my Stardust....but

I've tried everything...and it always taste burnt. My friend has one and she loves it, works flawlessly for her. I've only filled it 3 times...It seems like it has never quite worked right.

I use it on mt ego-t. I just can not figure it out. It was so frustrating last week I actually had to put it in the closet, literally, because it was driving me crazy. I'm fairly new at vaping...going on 2 months. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it. I really really want it to work, I love taking my ego on the go with me...

Thanks in advance. BTW it's a SR Stardust, they were all out of LR, which I think I would have liked better, but if I can't get it to work right I am leery of buying another one.

In my opinion the Stardust has “wimpy wicks” when they come from the manufacturer. I've noticed on several that I've taken part the coil is wrapped too tightly around the wick and also the coils are too close together which will prevent the juice from wicking properly. I wouldn't give up on the Stardust, consider trying another. You could try re-wicking and re-wiring but that's not for everyone.

Ya, definitely not for me. I'd rather just buy another one. I just thought maybe I was missing something.

If it is between modding and throwing it out, you might try pulling the silicone cover cap thingie out and slightly, ever so slightly notching or slitting it for the wicks. I mean if you can't use it there really isn't any harm in destroying it.

Re wicking isn't for everyone but is easy and you can use a wick from a e2 and the same wire from the Stardust first time I did it only took 30 min just make sure one wire is on the inside and one on the out side of silicone center PC you can use a small paper clip ti wrap the wick and wire 4 wraps works great

Dawn, im with ya there. I just had a thread about having problems with mine too (and did get some wonderful help over there but still a bit frustrated with it). The draw is too hard and once in a while i get a good flavor but most of the time tastes burnt.
If it is tasting burnt try lifting up on the center cap just a little and not tighten the mouth PC down all the way one thing I have noticed is you will get a few burnt tasting hits till it gets broken in not sure why but try the cap thing so it will get more juice to the wick at first worth a try

I find this info telling. I bought 5 of these for my wife as she travels to work a distance, this "burning" taste seems to be a theme. I never understood the cut off wick, but hey, who knows. Top wicks are not for everyone either. Personally of the many, many (did I mention many?) Carto items I have tried, the Fluxomiser is still the best i have tried, second to the "Sapphires".

That's exactly where I am...minus the hard draw. I literally drove myself crazy for 3 days. I want it to work...lol. I want to be able to fix it or figure out what I am doing wrong, I mean really it is a simple thing to use. A friend of mine has one and loves it. She has zero problems with it. I'll get one vape of good flavor and then bam....burnt. I wick it correctly, I vaped a non flavored juice through it to try to clean it out that way. It's frustration when I have a friend who brags about how awesome it is and what great flavor ect...I was really excited when I bought it....so being let down was a bummer.

If you're interested send it to me and I will re-wick and re-coil your Stardust.

I'm having the same problem with the "cone heads". I never had wicking issues with the older version. 5 nine week old Stardusts are still perfect...3 "coneheads" that have multiple issues including burnt taste wicking issues. Just a theory, but I think the old version with its imperfect seal allowed a little more juice to get by the cap, therefore the wick would get a little more juice to play with. I can run Boba's and Eco Pure Rich easily through the old version....but not in the new "cone heads".

I want my old Stardust back!!!!!

I think the stardust is like a lot of clearo type things - it depends to some extent on what you put in it and how you vape it. I had endless frustrations with the original CE2's but I find the stardusts work great. I use mainly PG juice which helps I think, but the other key thing for me is to keep them horizontal when you are vaping them and tip them up now and again. Works for me:)

I think it's all about the juice.
When I run thicker juice and/or dark or heavy VG juice through the Stardust, it's yuck. Doesn't wick well, burnt taste.
When I run a 50/50 mix through it, it's fine.
For thicker and/or VG heavy juice I use the Visions or Fluxos.
Just my limited experience. I'm happy with the Stardust, but they are a bit finicky when it comes to what liquid they prefer.

Just cut the bottom of the silicon cup off (about the lever of the metal insert, maybe 1/8 of inch) and it’s vaping twice as strong, a KISS fix (for something I didn’t need to “fix” liked the Stardust the way it was, but more vapor is nice), it’s going to probably leak a little now or flood the cup I’ll see when I go off vertical, enjoying the extra vapor too much now to test.
It’s sure a juice hog, just ½ empted it. That’s a good thing IMHO.
What’s the rewicking about? With more apologies to sir br I can’t see lengthening these wicks helping but waiting to hear from those doing the wicks. Hay br, now it draws a lot freer, to your taste, I just put a condo to cut down on the draw for me.
OK, big gurgler now after adding VG, maybe too much, need to keep juice level low but I think this is the right way to go KISS for this. Going to just cut 1/16 inch off next [brunet not blond cutoff, think blond would work as good], don’t think doing “V’s” would help, cup is exposed anyway and the metal tube just holds what is exposed. These things are such a mechanical masterpiece of construction. Again apologies to br, these are not close to your Masterpiece’s, I’ll use my Thesaurus to find another way of describing the Stardusts: masterwork, which works for the mechanical construction of the Stardust’s, won’t use masterpiece again to describe the stardust.
