Looking for advice/suggestions. I'm a fairly new vaper (one month in) and although my Ego C upgrade works well enough, I think its time to start into an APV. I really like the VW feature. I know how to make a calculation using Ohm's Law, but I really like the idea of being able to put any clearo or tank on and have my device figure out the voltage - with me just having to bump through the Watt levels .5 at a time to find the right taste.

I was an almost 2 PAD smoker, so at Canadian cigarette prices (the "cheap" brands, lol) I was spending in the neighbourhood of $435 a month. This means that I could justify something as expensive as a Provari - except they don't have a variable watt feature - at least not yet!

I've watched Phil's videos, read different reviews, checked out quite a few threads as well as visiting the B&M vaping stores in my town to see and heft the models they have in stock - yet I still have not been able to make a definitive decision. As an analytical type, this is unusual for me<grin>!

Here are the parameters I have to consider in my search. I'm one of those "tiny" people - never quite made it to 5' (wear a size five and a half shoe), female, mid-fifties, like a fairly warm vape. I have a hard time picturing myself lugging around a monstrous, dildoesque APV. I like the idea of the Innokin iTaste VV 3.0, particularly because of the VW and USB charging with the ability for pass through vaping - but I am concerned about battery time. I tend to chain vape, and find my 1,100 mamp batteries start to flash blue by the time I'm heading home from work (I do have a USB car charger unit, just in case). I'm also concerned about (as Phil puts it) the "anemic" voltage performance.

The 18650 battery is probably a good idea, and I don't have an issue with the "rattlesnake" sound of a 3.33 MHz chip. I like the build quality of the Innokin SVD, but it is really heavy. If I put my Protank on there, I'm thinking - tendonitis!

I'm hoping a good APV will minimize some of the gurgly vapes I get with my Kanger T3S and overall provide a more consistent vape. I do prefer to buy locally if possible - once I do decide, I want it now - not three weeks away shipped from China (Shia, shia [sp?]).

Am I searching for a mythical beast? Given the rapid innovation in this industry, is something like this likely to come out in the next few months? Or is it out there now and I simply don't know about it?

Your thoughts are much appreciated.

If you want to run an 18650 battery the device is not going to be "small".
You can always get a apv that will run 350's and get a couple extra batteries and a battery box, you can easily toss them in a purse and change when needed.

I'd probably recommend a zmax/mini, but if you're worried about the looks you could go for an itaste mvp (not sure if its vw) or another box style device.

Any 18650 mod is going to have a bit of weight and size.
eVic is about the lightest.
#1 Provari
#2 eVic(latest release)
#3 Vamo(second Release) Vamo 3 is shakey on quality.

Box Mods, sorry no clue but don't buy cheap here - Reo maybe?

For small and comfortable
Provari mini
eVic with 18350 tube
Extra batteries.

Thanks for the replies so far. No one in town carries the Vamo, so I haven't been able to check it out. For those of you that have one, has grip/slipperiness and fingerprints/scratching been an issue?

Anyone using a single 18350 - how are you finding it for use-time?

eVic owners - the multiple nested menus look as if they could get pretty time-consuming. Does it just become second nature after a while? Also, I keep hearing that they are fragile - is that really the case?

I like the idea of VW, but in day-to-day practical use, maybe it's actually limiting in terms of "finding the sweet spot". Again, I'd like to hear from those of you that have it and can share your experience.

I like my little itazte vv/vw 3.0. I bougt it online for about 35 bucks and it will do all you need at this point in your vapeing journey...
I run mine with a ProTank and it does a great job for me. I don't want a hassle, just good vape! new itazte small.jpg

My Vamo is chrome and I never did understand why people think they're so slippery. I run stacked 18350s so I can't comment on single battery use. The next one I get will be stainless steel for a more durable finish. I like the ease of use, the eVic looks like the menu would be a pain to use IMO. You can always bump your wattage up or down a little to adjust your vape.

Thank you all!

After much deliberation and trying a number of devices at a local B&M shop, I bought a stainless steel ZMax mini and an extension tube so that I can use an 18650 in it. It feels good in my hand and is not all that much taller than my 1,100 mAh Ego. So far a very nice vape at the 7.5 - 8.0 W setting using a 1.8 ohm iClear 16. Only had it for a couple of hours, so more fun to come as I try it out with different tanks and play around with different settings.

Thanks again for all your suggestions.

That is a fine choice! I too was going to mention the SID, as it is very similar to the Zmax's but at a killer price (Love it with Kanger Pro Tanks and iClear 30s!). For when you do want something more portable though, an iTaste 3.0 is a great back up vw device. Yes, the vape time is limited, but with pass-through charging it still is pretty practical...like you, I am a bit of a chain-vaper.
