same feelings here about the Provari ;-). Each to his own. I think the porvari is a very nice mod, but I just find it so UGLY. Cant help it.

I was beginning to think I was the only one :), if everyone said they performed better I'd overlook the looks/PRICE. But they don't sooo...yeap. I think it's just how bland they look, like a "sports holder" for glasses. They aren't shiny enough :p.

Most of you young'uns out there probably don't know what a vacuum tube is, but that's the first thing that came to mind for me when I saw it.

Take a look. What do you think?

OK, I feel old now

I love vacuum tubes. They still make the best sounding amps. Sweet sounding distortion that's easy on the ear.

When I was a kid, I used to take off the back of the television, take out the tubes, and walk them up to the Walgreens where I "tested" them in the machine. Then, I'd take them home, put them BACK in the tv - correctly - and my parents were never the wiser.

I was an odd child.

I was going to say it EvilZoe, but Talyon beat me to it

My dad and I used to head out to the hardware store with a bunch of tubes when our TV was acting up, test them and buy new ones as needed. It was good to be able to do that ourselves. Our next TV was solid state (another term you don't hear much any more) and didn't have tubes to burn out. But that didn't mean it never had issues and those were of course not user serviceable.

There are still TV repair shops, but they don't make house calls any more. We still have a tube TV. Used a shop in Mississauga about 5 years ago for it.

Ah yes the TV repair guy forgot about him, after Dad made the TV worse.

Sorry for high jacking this thread......

I'm on the rail here about the nautilus being fugly. More leaning 51/49 that it is.

I know what ya mean... I dont understand why anyone would buy a tank that leaks gurgles

I stayed with carto tanks and got them for my parents BC they are easy don't leak etc. Never used a pt, Nautilus, w/e, do they give a better vape than a good carto tank? They certainly seem to be much more trouble....?

I love the look of the Nautilus. That said, it's getting old keeping a small stock of coils for each and every atty I'm acquired in the past (almost) six months.

B&M vendors are watching their ever increasing stock of replacement coils taking up the back space of their shops too.

However, that's not going to stop me from owning one. I love all the shiny new stuff that's coming out.

I thought about getting the Nautilus but i feel like its just too big in general.. i put it on my k101 (which is what I use on the go) and it looked ridiculous..

on the other hand I've been very impressed with the AeroTank which has been my to go to tank along with the Iclear30S.. since they fixed the dual coil kanger heads.. even the PT3 has been working great with no leaking issues so far after using it for the past 2 weeks..

I also heard the Nautilus replacement heads have an even worse failure rate than the regular single coil Protank heads (over 40% from what I heard, not sure if its true)

Sounds normal to me. I did the same thing. Still play with tube amps, have several all tube guitar amps from the 50s & 60s.

The first thing I thought of when I saw the Nautilus was the old early glass 6L6GC amplifier tube.
