Hi,

I'm quite sure that this will apply to those of us who purchase rechargeable Li-ion batteries online for our 100% legal portable TVs and Discmans.

http://www.iata.org/whatwedo/cargo/dgr/Documents/Lithium-Battery-Guidance-2014.pdf (page 9 for quick reference)

"Cells <=20Wh and batteries <=100Wh

limits per package:

Equal to or less than 2.7 Wh = 2.5kg;
or Greater than 2.7 Wh but equal to or less than 20Wh = 8 cells;
or Greater than 2.7Wh but equal to or less than 100Wh = 2 batteries.
"

The middle category probably best applies to us. "Or" indicates that if one line is satisfied, the others do not need to be, so the "8 cells" would probably be the limit for the kinds of batteries we use (rather than "2 batteries").

Not a major issue though - most of us would probably naturally order under 8 cells/batteries at one go, and you can easily get high-quality ones locally in a pinch (at a premium of course).

JFYI to avoid unnecessary seizures on the US end of the postal chain.

ed. the title should read from* 2014.
ed2. added clarification on the limits.
