iAtty Scam. BEWARE

So, I'm not sure why I am posting this here, but I thought I might as well give everyone a heads-up.

I sent a $130.00 payment to an ECF member "Almighty" for an iAtty with some spare wire and wick (not a bad price, eh?). This was on the 14th.

He is from Canada, and only a 10-hour drive away, so it definitely should have arrived about three times now. He will not respond to my emails or PMs and hasn't even been on ECF in 6 days now.

I am extremely upset, even more so that I purchased tons of iAtty extras from COV anticipating my new baby. I suggest everybody keeps their wits about them if you decide to deal with him.

I also left formal negative feedback. I'm not trying to flame another member here, just keeping my GG family up to date

So its last post on ecf was at 21 of September Sea? Did you contact him before 21 of September and he didnt respond while he was still posting on ecf? If you contacted him later than 21 of September maybe something bad is happening to him and he cant answer to your mails.

But if he shipped your Iatty at 14 or 15 or 16 of September at least it had to be with you right now.

It looks like he was last on line on the 20th. I contacted him on the 14th and 15th After the payment was sent. And have sent emails and PMs daily.

Unfortunately, in my frustration over not receiving my iAtty, I overlooked the possibility that something unfortunate may have befallen him, so I will Retract my negative feedback until I get more information, but I think I should keep this particular thread up because I know he sold a GGTS, and another iAtty on the same day in the same classified thread.

Yeah I hope it gets sorted for you Seaweed. I have seen other deals this guy has made with good results posted. I am thinking since he hasn't been online something must be wrong in his real world.

Unless he is very clever, you don't create details that hurt your money intake like the loss of the GGTS top cap. I just hope you get your items as do the rest of the people that sent him money.

He now claims he will send me "my personal iAtty tomorrow with Xpress Post and Tracking". There is no word or phrase I can think of that describes my anger and frustration right now. This iAtty better be everything it is cracked up to be

Yeah I PM'd him yesterday about his SSGGTS and he told me it was sold so all is not lost. Make sure to leave comments on the feedback section if and when you get it. I still get use out of them.

Yeah that's pretty weak right there. When I buy or sell I make sure I keep track of anything shipped until it is in my hands or the buyers as the case may be. As to whether it's a "personal" item or not, you paid for it and deserve exactly what you paid for and not one red copper less. Keep us posted.

I sent him $230 for UFS wiith stainless window and mouthpiece. I really hope i didnt get scammed because that was my UFS fund and i wont be able to buy one when they come out. I should have just waited but im too trustworthy and was overly anxious to get a UFS.

I cant stop dwelling on this. I really hope my UFS is somewhere between here and Canada. He seemed legit when he was messaging me back and forth about the UFS. I hope its just a misunderstanding and i didnt get robbed out of my UFS fund. I really enjoy surfing the classifieds and i dont want to be worried about getting robbed.

WF keep in mind if this seller is from Canada its going to take longer than normal to get to you. I sold and send a REO Grand to a person in Vancouver , Canada not too long ago. Keep in mind that Vancouver is like 350 miles north of me and it still took 2 weeks to get to him. yea, go figure. Hopefully, your UFS is still just en route from Canada to the US

yeah i was aware of the shipping time to begin with what worries me is the fact that seaweed is ten hours away (in canada) and hasnt gotten his iatty. And the explanation he gave seemed suspect. I really think ill get it in a few days because the guy seemed cool. There are just a few things that were/are weird about the whole transaction.

Well if all you paid PP and did not get you item you have 30 days to dispute. You should dispute ASAP and hopefully it gets the ball rolling. That is not right.

Dispute is a good option if all else fails, but a better one would be to send j0ker or myself a message (I'll just pass it on to j0ker, but I'm around fairly often so it might be easier for you) about your situations. I've had an issue with a seller that stopped all contact (but before I gave money, just after we made the agreement) and magically I was contacted and transaction completed the day after j0ker sent them a PM.

We, as ECF, can't do anything if they did scam you (that's why we tell you NOT to use the gift option of PP) but we can try and mediate a bit and of course ban people from classifieds (or the entire forum) if they don't play nice.

He told me he would have it shipped out and provide me with a tracking number by 10:00 a.m. this morning. I gave him the benefit of the doubt for a few hours, contacted him, waited another hour, and then sent him this:



I was told I would have my tracking info by 10:00 a.m. If this has not been produced within the hour I will be filing a PayPal dispute, Submitting all the information I have accumulated to the Mods at ECF, and will then contact the Police in Montreal with the same details, including your personal information.



Harsh? Appropriate?

I am so sorry this is happening to you guys... This is even frustrating me and I am in no way involved!!!I just know that when I sell here(and it it quite often) I ship out within usually a 24 hour window, usually faster, then PM the buyer ASAP after I have shipped to let them know what is going on.. I dont know about reporting him only because I like to give people the benifit of the doubt but this seems so unnessary for this to be as hard as it has been you yall to even keep in contact with this guy!!!.. I wish I could help!!!! At least he finally responded to the original FS post... I still dont even understand why it has not been closed yet if he has it all sold and paid for though!! Weird at the very least!!! MY 2 CENTS
