Thanks man,

When I first started doing this stuff, everything was thru-hole and components were large. Never needed a magnifier and I could always make my own circuit boards. Components were a lot more basic too. In fact, my very first project was an audio amplifier that had vacuum tubes! That was in the early 70's.

With the miniaturization of electronics, especially in the last couple decades, I've had to get inventive in finding ways to assemble things myself.

Hello, I was looking through the forum for this very thing and found this thread on how to add usb to a mod.
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modders-forum/91081-added-usb-charger-3-7v-box-mod.html
I was also wondering if any one has looked at the USB 5V Lithium Li-ion Battery 1 Cell Charger Board on ebay 400 mah charging on this one. Not 500 but close.
I also did a web search for micro usb break out boards and found these.
Vertical micro usb breakout board
Horizontal micro usb breakout board

I've put this on 2 other threads so hopefully some one, with more experience than me, will try this and see how it works.

USB 2.0 standard-A connectors are rated at 1500 mA.

I'm going to echo this because WillyB and I discussed USB power specs a couple months ago (regarding USB passthroughs). When a computer's USB port is transferring data, then the current is limited to 500ma. If no data is being transferred, and you are using a USB power cable and not a data cable, then the max current is 1.5 amps. This makes total sense, considering a "5v" USB passthrough has to draw more than 1.5 amps (hence my quotations around "5v", since using a PT on a PC limits you to 4.5v when using a 3 ohm atty because of the 1.5 amp limit).
