I started to disassemble it to clean it up before using it for the first time, and the bottom is tight. I can't get it to budge, are there any little tips on loosening that bottom part without breaking the ring above it loose?

When I get ones like that I wrap paper towel around the metal part at the bottom and very carefully use a pair of pliers to take it off. I make sure I'm only grabbing the metal part and not the plastic. The extra torque from the pliers helps unscrew it. I've done this with 5-6 iClears and so far it's worked everytime.
