I vaped a long while back for a few months then went back to cigs.
Was using an inokken vv v3 and mini protank 2. I got a lot of dry hits with the stock heads. Tried my hand at rebuilding with cotton. It was great! The only problem being that I absolutely hate rebuilding them. I'ts not exactly hard, i just hate doing finicky small things with my huge hands.
I have been looking around and a lot of stuff has progressed. I still have the batterys. Is there anything inexpensive that i can just buy heads for that just works? I like the price and look of the iClear 16D the most. Anyone tried one?
iclear 16D?
Aspire ETS?
Mini PT 3?
Would the Nautilus mini look silly on a vv v3?
Anything else?
I use the
iClear 16 because of the long wicks and the Top Dual Coil System. The drip tips are replaceable with a CE4 style and I can create different color combinations to designate different flavors (ie- Green tank with a Red tip for Watermelon). I want a warm vape at this time because it is more like the analog habit I gave up 6 weeks ago. There was one time after changing the coil that I was getting dry hits. Thinking it was the age of the 50/50 eliquid I used, my wife speed steeped it for a couple of days. When we put it back in the iClear the dry hits continued. Swapped the coil and the issue went away. I have 16 flavors that I use and the only slight issue I have had besides the one above is with one of my 30pg/70vg juices. If it gets real low, I have to allow plenty of time between hits to make sure it doesn't have a problem wicking due to it's thickness. Tilting it when I hit it helps with this as well. All of my other juices (50/50 or even 60/40) have no issues and a coil typically lasts 3 weeks or longer.
My wife (and mother) prefer the
Aspire CE5-S. This is a Bottom Dual Coil system with internal wicks. She never gets dry hit and the one time it tasted burnt, that the coil didn't need replaced, was due to the vacuum in the tank getting off balance. This was very simply solved by gently blowing into the drip tip until bubbles came out of the coil. The issue was resolved. Her coils last at least 3 weeks as well, depending on usage, as some flavors are not vaped as often as others. Mom prefers these flavors and the coolness of the vape as well. You can trust me when I tell you that if my 60+ year old mother that has been smoking all of her adult life can use these clearos, they are low maintenance. She would not be able to Tinker with them like we could.
We both use the Innokin VV v3.0 and she has an MVP shine as well.
We have no experience with the
Protank 3.
The
Nautilus Mini looks great on the VV V3.0 and works very nicely as well. We haven't had it long and she has decided that she prefers the BDC Nautilus Coil over the new BVC. Not sure if that is because she is so use to a BDC Flavor and warmth or what. The Jury is still out for me on the Nautilus. I want to like the BVC coil but I am used to the TDC, as I told you above, and the heat and flavor is just not there for me. I can see why she says the BDC is better but it just doesn't seem to be a warm enough vape for me. I have ordered some of the 1.6 ohm BVC coils and will see if that improves it for me. If not, I do like the Nautilus and will probably go with the BDC coil as well. I will say until I like the cooler vape better than I do now, she will get more use out of them than I will.
As with everything vaping, YMMV. I would buy a few different tanks that you are interested in and try them out. They can usually be found cheap enough online to allow you try them and simply not re-order the ones that you don't love. You may also find that you like fruity flavors in the iClear and the desert flavors in the Aspire. Taste is so subjective as is everything else with this hobby.
I hope this helps.
