Hey everyone I just got my Innokin itaste VTR in the mail yesterday and have been vapin on the iClear 30s tank that comes with it. I was wondering if anyone else that's used this tank has thought it produces weak hits (very little vapor, mostly air). It is a 2.2ohm dual coil (top coil) atomizer. I'll admit i have little experience with dual coils and it is my understanding that you need to turn your voltage or wattage ( I use watts) up to compensate for time it takes to heat the extra wiring (Do I have this right?).

My usual set up (until the VTR) was a VAMO V2 and a protank (2.5ohm head) at 8 watts. While the protank performs better on the VTR than it does the VAMO, I'm not getting anywhere near the same performance out of the iclear 30s. I'm puzzled by this because I've been reading that the 2 are being compared as to which one is better. Well so far its the protank hands down because the iclear 30s is performing like a carto on a cig-a-like battery...

So really I'm just wondering is it just me? could it be a bad head? what is should i be vaping this thing at if i enjoy 8 watts on my single coil protank? Someone help me please lol. I really want to like this tank.

Man I wonder what's up with mine? I've got it at 9 watts right now and its not any better. I did remove the top wick from it like i sometimes do to my protank heads but there was horrible leaking after. My juice is 70/30 so it shouldnt be a wicking issue at all. It's not the mod because the protanks are working great? Any suggestions?

I admit at first I really didn't like the iClear30 at all but now it's becoming one of my favorite tanks. I find it works best with thicker juices that cling to the wicks better (more vg) and for me it vapes wonderfully. You have to keep rolling it around but after a while this actually becomes fun because the result is a really clean thick vapor with none of that silica taste from the itty bitty wicks from bottom coils. I'm actually considering getting another one, night and day from my opinions of it when I first tried it out. Give it a chance.

Try another head. I hated my first Iclear30 - turned out it was much better with a new head - the first one worked - but it was weak to say the least. The vapor production quadrupled. The first one read properly as far as resistance - it just sucked. LOL. Although it is much better with a new head - still not my personal favorite tank. It performs great - but my ADV has an odd taste in it. No idea why - my other flavors taste better in it than other clearos. YMMV.

You should have been more specific in your thread. I just realized you are talking about the iClear30s (you mention this in the title, but not in the post I dont think...)

I was speaking for the iClear30. No idea about the iclear30s

It seems a few others thought u meant the iclear30 too. They are entirely different devices

edit: you did put iclear30s in the thread, but it could be read differently, as in "my iclear30's coils". sorry for the misunderstanding. Since the names are so similar, its really a pain

No worries on the misunderstanding.

@CreepyLady - Yeah I'm hoping its just my head. The 1st tank i went through on this thing was pretty nice, not protank nice, but it did give my liquids a bit of a more "clean" taste. After refilling it its just been weak. But I did order 3 replacement heads yesterday so I'm hoping for better results when they get here. I mean if anything it's not too much of a loss because when I ordered my VTR I didnt read the bottom of the description so I didn't know it came with the tank in the 1st place, but I figured since I've got it I'll see what I can get out of it.

Thanks for the responses guys.

I have 4 ...Iclear 30S Tanks...and a VTR..
All working great at 4 volts 10 watts.
My question to you is...How did you remove the top wick?....As far as I know you cant remove the top wick..Its sealed

I really like my iclear30s but find that a new coil doesn't perform at its peak for very long. I have 3 or 4 coils I rotate bthat I leave soaking in vodka when not in use. Maybe you just got a crappy coil. Try it with a fresh one when you can. Fill it and let it sit a while then give it a try.

On the coil head I took a Bobby pin and pryed the rubber cap off just pulled the top wick out then replaced the cap. Wasn't sealed in or anything. But it is hard to get it back in. I wouldn't try this as it only made performance worse after removing it

Having just tried both of those, I prefer the ProTank. The iClear 30S gave me muted flavor.

You are going to get a million different answers here. Just user the one you like best.

Well the first thing to remember about dual coils is it is a DC parallel circuit, which means you are only getting 4 watts through each coil, so you need to increase the power, I usually power my iclear 30's at around 11 watts. The second thing to consider is if one coil pops, all of a sudden you have a 4.4ohm single coil which will require more voltage, but with a VW device it should not matter, your device will automatically adjust the voltage to 5.7volts, if in fact a VTR can supply that voltage.

I haven't cared for mine much. My PT2 with aerobase, and my Davide perform better to me. I use 50/50 juice, and like a cooler vapor. I too am still trying various juice, but so far I am not impressed. My juice flavor is muted, if it's not muted, I get little vapor production. I've changed heads, cleaned things, etc. just doesn't cut the mustard for me.

Keep in mind though, this is coming from a guy that isn't real happy with a Nautilus tank right now either. I just think duel coil setups aren't for me.

Yeah dual coils are a different animal for sure, I personally like them, you just need a device that can provide the amperage required.

My devices are OK. Use a Vamo V5, and an iTazte VTR. Have an iTazte SVD coming today. I know some higher end devices perform different, I am just basing this statement off of many I have seen with positive results using the same devices. I'm not sure really what my hang up is with duel coils, other than to say they just don't seem to work well for me. I am certainly open to any and all suggestions to try to get a better experience though.
