A friend of mine recently bought a k100 and she got ICR batteries. I actually own a k100 as well, but Ive been using the IMRs in mine as well as my VAMO.

Ive read tons of posts to use IMR batteries in mods due to some chemistry thing.....but Im wondering if I should pick up ICRs since her mod came with em.

Advice?

Is k100 a mechanical mod, not a VV APV?

Mechanical mod or not the IMR battery is considered "safer chemistry" and requires no built-in safety or protection circuit. While a protected ICR offers a degree of safety the protection circuit can fail. ICR batteries have a higher capacity per size than IMR but an IMR can deliver more current.

The battery you definitely want to avoid is an unprotected ICR.

Protected ICR will work fine but IMR is an better performer (except for capacity) and a safer choice.
