I'd like to sell my Provari, but I need to know what's wrong with it first.

So.. I desperately need some money for the new semester. I have a black V2 Provari that has been sitting on a shelf for about 9 months because it broke. I'd love to fix it and keep it, but I can't.

I had shot Provape an email about it, since it was still (barely) under warranty, but a lot of things happened and I never got around to sending it back in. So now, the warranty is gone. (I'm dumb, I know... I'm usually very very good about this type of stuff.)

Anyways, it's in near perfect condition. Logo is crisp, no scratches, has extender cap (also no scratches), button is very very springy, LED is perfect and bright... But the damn thing won't fire.

The whole menu works - check battery, voltage, etc.

When I get to checking Ohms it says OP. If I put on a 510 extender it will register my 1.3ohms coil as 1.6 Ohms, or sometimes OP.

Even when it registers my coil as 1.6, it won't fire.

I think it's the pin, but I'd like to know whatever else it could be and how much it would cost someone to fix it so I can make potential buyers aware and adjust my price accordingly.

Thanks!

Standard repair fees (out of warranty)

Replace Window and screws- $10.00
Replace Circuit Board - $65.00
Upgrade to V2 - $20.00
Replace plastic pushbutton - $5.00
Repairs to the circuit board - $25.00
Cleaning - $20.00
Replace top cap - $15.00
Broken Cartomizer Service - $10.00

Are you sure you're putting good coils on it? If so, the circuit board may need repaired, or the pin has been pushed down & isn't making contact. The pin could be fixed with a spacer (I think madvapes sells them for less than a buck each). Worst case scenario, you're out $30 for a board repair & shipping. I don't think it's that bad though.

The 510 extender is the spacer you are talking about, I believe. That's the only way to read Ohms, but it still won't fire with one on (it also reads the same coil at a higher ohms than my other provaris).

I do think it's the pin (or atleast part of the problem), simply because before this happened, a lot of flush, bottom airflow, toppers (like vivi novas) would choke on airflow.

I would just open a new ticket and explain your situation... If you still have the old ticket with an approved RMA, they may very well still take care of you, especially if you have some evidence (Old ticket) that it was broken before the warranty expired... Explain to them why you couldn't send it in until now...

These folks at ProVape aren't just machines, they are passionate, caring humans, and love to take care of us whenever they can.

You never know til you try! All they can say is no, and worse case scenario they replace the top cap for you and boom, back in business... $15 to fix it up!

When you consider that most mods your recourse would be to buy a whole new one, $15 is a very attractive price...

As mentioned, You'll get a lot more for it if it's fixed BEFORE you attempt to sell it. I know I would not be willing to pay more than $30 for a ProVari that wouldn't fire... This would be based on worse case scenario, I have to send it in myself AND it COULD be a broken PCB that requires replacement. Putting me over $100 with shipping to ProVape. You get it fixed (Even if the repair is only $15) and I would pay upwards of $100 for it.

It's pointless at this time to attempt to charge more than $100 in the used market, because I can get a brand new "blemished" unit with a full warranty for $130...

Good luck!

Gonna have a real hard time selling if it is in any way malfunctioning. Unless you go extremely dirt cheap. As was said contact Provape. They may work with you since you already opened a ticket under warranty. Worst case scenario you have to pay a small fee to get it repaired. You could always try to put it up for sale at a lower cost in the meantime to see if you have any bites. For the right price someone may be willing to take the chance and get it repaired themselves. Just be totally upfront and honest in your listing. State everything you did here.

Thank you everyone :) I sold some other things so I'm not in a rush anymore. I'll definitely reopen the ticket with them and see what they say.

Definitely open up a ticket with us, Violy. We will look at your old ticket and definitely consider that in regards to the repair. Even if any repairs need to be done outside of warranty, we will always let you know the cost up front before we do any repairs, so nothing will come as a shock. We are there to help :)
