Hang in there. You can figure out what's going on with your Vivi Nova. I have a Vivi Nova but it's worked flawlessly since new so I'm not very familiar of possible issues with it. Did you try drawing on the Nova by itself when not screwed on a battery? A Nova is normally pretty tight draw so anything that blocks it's vent holes will just make it unusable. Do you have anything else than the Nova on your battery, like a sleeve or adapter? Are you sure the coil is getting current? Do you hear it sizzle?
P.S. I just read above your Vivi pulls too much air. This is not normal for a Vivi as it draws very tightly. Are you sure yours is not a cheap knockoff? I have heard there are many around and they have problems. Oh, just remembered. Try screwing down the head. These screw on/off and they can come loose from the factory. If is not screwed down tightly it may not make contact and thus not fire at all and maybe it also explains the loose draw.
P.P.S. If your hubby's vivi Nova works fine, try using its head on your vivi Nova. If it works there is something wrong with yours. You need to know the actual resistance of your coil. If it's too high, you may need higher voltages to vape properly. If it really comes down to too much air flow you can try sticking a toothpick in one of the air holes at the base, just one, and try it again.
OMG... a pack if cigs and a bic lighter was so much easier
