I was telling my gf the other day, even if vaping had all the chemicals of cigarettes, was equally as dangerous, equally expensive, etc, I would still go with vaping simply for the fact that my clothes and car no longer reek of smoke. More than anything else, I hated coming home from a night where I smoked a lot, and my clothes smell terrible.

I would not go back to smoking. The smell makes me sick now. I was at a friends house and he smokes a lot of cigs, and there were others smokers there as well. I went home and sat on the couch. The smell of my clothes actually made me nauseous. I had to change my clothes and wash.

Never would've thought this day would arrive.

Wow, that's a tough question for sure. For me, quitting smoking isn't just about the cost because I've spent WAY more on vaping supplies than I have on analogs. It was really more about health than anything else but it started out being more about saving. Honestly, I'd probably do both. I really enjoy vaping but if I'm particularly stressed vaping just doesn't do enough to calm me down. Probably need to raise my nic level for those times though. I do really well for the most part and love all my vaping gear. It's turned into more of a hobby than a smoking cessation tool really quickly.

Although with the acquisition of my REO Grand, two hand fulls of LR 510 attys and my favorite juices I'd say I'm about to the point where I will start saving money instead of spending so much. I'm not constantly on the quest for the next big PV to hit the forums and I've found two great all day vapes. I should be set.

I'd say at the 2nd week, vaping tasted better to me than cigs ever did and I finally realized I was really done. All the benefits for me are health, cleanliness, omg was my smoking habit filthy, and price I suppose but I've not saved money yet cuz I keep wanting more toys.

Also during my 2nd week I noticed a strange smell while walking around the house, coming in through the windows. A half hour later I discovered I have flowers outside and wtf I can smell them? This was quite amusing and alarming to me as I've not been able to smell things like that in many years.

Ex 3.5 pad smoker for 30 years, yeah I ain't going back ever! It's time to smell the roses!

Price wasn't an issue for me. I was already doing RYO pipe tobacco in 100mm filter tubes with a machine. So it only cost me a little over a $1 a pack. Actually cheaper than vaping. But health was my big concern. I started developing breathing problems and I'm only 31. So I had to cut that out completely. Deep inhaling pipe tobacco in cigarette filters is a horrible idea.

Yep same for me. I think I'm probably saving a little money now that I've got everything down and diy juice and ordered atties in bulk from china, bought bulk liquid, a gallon of 48mg. I haven't ordered anything in months.

I would never go back to analogs. It wasn't price or inconvenience that drove me to PVs, it was seeing my dad die of esophageal cancer. It was then that the health aspect really hit home for me, though I had worried about it before. I had tried to quit in the past and it never lasted, I guess part of it was that the health aspect hadn't really "clicked" with me and part was that the other quit aids just didn't work. So I was excited to learn about PVs and now would never go back to analogs, no matter what the price difference was.

I am vaping mostly. I treat myself to two smokes a day. That is all. I am trying to cut down to one...it is a game I am playing with my own mind...I would not go back to the pack a day. I remember the days before vaping that I would wake up expectorating large copious amounts of mucous. (Sorry to be graphic..LOL.) In addition, I could hear my wheezing without a stethoscope. When one starts hearing adventitious lung sounds without a stethoscope...that is a red flag to quit.

I no longer have wheezing, crackles or any other type of adventitous sounds thus far.

So to reply to your thread...no I would not go back to smoking that pack a day...even if it was for free.

My husband's stepmom just passed away this summer from emphasyma, she was only 60 years old, his stepdad had a major heart attack at 55 and died. My father in law now has COPD and is on oxygen and not doing all that great. My mom gets pneumonia atleast twice a year. ALL smoking related.
When I was younger I would say stupid crap like, "they say it does these things but everyone I know is fine!" Not anymore. Now they're all dead or sick. My mother in law passing was a huge eye opener for me, I don't want to leave my kids and young grandkids so early. I don't want to work my entire life and get no retirement. I can definitely relate to finally "getting it."
It's not the nicotine, that's why I don't understand why the FDA, etc aren't more relaxed about NRTs yet take no hard lines when it comes to cigarette production. Guess it's easy to be a hardliner when you have no working experience of what it's like or it's not your family dying from it.
