Ditto....lol So my question is: Can you get through airport security with a vivi or clearo filled with liquid??
The answer would be no You are allowed to carry 100ml of liquid in a clear bottle sealed in a zip lock bag threw carry on but cartomizers do pass. Ive done it.

I've flown with a mod in my pocket (w/carto) and a couple 30 ml bottles of juice in the carry-on bag. No problem with TSA.

Look, counter terrorism measures are serious business. No one wants to see vapor on a plane. It looks like smoke.

Just act like an adult and refrain from vaping on the plane or in the airport (unless it's a smoking zone). I'm flying cross country in a few days and will be using nicotine gum during the flight.

i dont think it would set off any alarm since its water vapor

I always vape on the plane and I do it as stealthily as possible.
I have taken my Zenesis through security filled tank and all without a problem though they'll ask about it and possibly wipe it down.
When I'm on the plane and vaping though I use an eGo with a clearomizer or something simple usually and blow my vape towards the floor, into a hanky or I hold it in long as I can so there is nothing emerging from my inhale. But if you feel like you won't get into trouble by all means test out your little "theory" that you won't be caught! lol.

I set one off once, almost 3 years ago on a flight. It was a long flight, and I had gone about 6 hours without a vape. I popped into the lavatory and vaped, as I had several times before on previous flights, and I was getting pretty good vapor production. (It helped rid the odor the previous occupant left behind, as well as satiate my nicotine craving.) Anyway, while I was in there, the "smoke" alarm went off and the flight crew started pounding on the walls and door. When I exited, the vapor was gone, and I had returned my e-cig to my pocket. Because of the commotion, everyone's attention was focused on me. I was confronted and asked if I had been smoking. I simply replied that I had not. I returned to my seat, and the crew inspected the lavatory. After a few minutes, an attendant approached me, saying that it was obvious I wasn't smoking, but wondered if I had sprayed cologne, or something similiar. She stated that the lavatory had a pleasant smell, and that perfume/cologne could trigger the smoke alarm. I told her I hadn't, and left it at that, and also left a puzzled flight crew. E-cigs weren't really known then, and I just couldn't see the upside for me in attempting to explain what they were. I also figured the worst outcome of my not coming clean, was an unscheduled check of the alarm by a maintenance crew.

When I fly today, I have a supply of nicotine gum or tablets to stave off cravings. E-cigs are much more well know now. Their use is prohibited. And, it seems to me, that the level of detector sensitivity can vary. Now, I'm just not willing to risk getting caught.

The last time I flew I used an eGo and a Star Dust (pre-Vivi Nova) and I put the Star Dust (filled) in the bag with the liquids (also some 10ml bottles of nicquid) and the eGo in the tray with my keys. I took them apart while waiting in line. Screeners know what e-cigs are. Nobody asked questions.

On the way to Cuba I vaped in the washroom. I stealth vaped to produce the minimum vapour and avoided the alarm because they can detect visible vapour with an electric eye sensor. An indication of a fire during flight is very serious and I am sure you would not want the crew to ignore fire warnings on your flight. On the return flight I never needed to vape (I guess I was less stressed) and Customs on both ends of the flight never asked any e-cig questions. They seem well informed about e-cigs since I am sure they would have asked questions if they had any doubt what it was.

Put your liquids where they tell you to put liquids and metal where they tell you to put metal. I would be more afraid of them stealing it that I would of them confiscating it! Lol

I still believe one of the main reasons why vaping is not allowed on planes and trains is due to the lesser of two evils. The companies would rather not have to deal with someone complaining about the possibility of "seeing someone smoking" and having to explain the whole process. I just stealth vape anywhere I am not sure of if I have to get a fix. Hold the vapor in for longer than normal and it will not show up.

PS>> I just tried blowing my vape into my shirt and it came right through the fabric and went everywhere... so how does that work on a plane?
You need a different shirt.
:)

It most definitely works better with a long-sleeved shirt.
And of course you want a shirt that isn't very porous.

The best thing is to be wearing a jacket over the shirt as well, then you really have no worries.

Just use nicotine gum for the long flights. I bought some at CVS (local drug store) on Saturday. It was right there with the other over-the-counter drugs, no prescription required. This was the CVS house brand and it was on sale, 50% off. I bought 40 4 mg pieces for $12. That will last me for a lot of flight/airport time.

I previously used smokeless tobacco for long flights. Now that I've been off cigarettes completely for nearly six months I'd rather use the nicotine gum than a whole tobacco product.
