I severed the optic nerve in one eye back in 2000. I'm literally blind in that eye. This thread is highly offensive. I only wish I could see my clouds with that eye! The audacity of the inconsiderate conjecture over the idea is really politically incorrect.

Nah. I'm just BSing (well, except for the half-blind part lol). :D

I closed my eyes (yeah, we monocular folks still close both eyes) and took a puff (and peeked). I guess there is some sensory satisfaction from the vision of the exhaled vapor.

Totally hypothetical, but I'd doubt that many, if any, completely blind people smoke. Remember trying to light a cigarette in the dark, only to burn the side of the paper wrapper half-way up from the tip to the fliter? I'd imagine blind folks just never appreciated how cool smoking "looks" (pun intended). I guess it is an aesthetic disposition as much as a physical addiction.

The other consideration of the hypothesis of non-smoking/vaping visually impaired people is that when a person is born without one of their senses, be it sight or hearing, the mind capitalizes on the remaining senses to aid the person's awareness of surroundings (Al Pacino "Scent of a Woman"). I'm sure any blind person who ever smelled a smoker was disgusted at the stench and was immediately unattracted to the idea of smoking. Not to mention the decrease in olfactory sense from smoking would possibly inhibit the blind person's ability to enjoy the scents of life.

Purely a hunch, but riddle me this- has anyone ever seen a blind person smoking? Now that I think about it, I haven't, to my knowledge.

*closes eyes and vapes again to be sure...

True and false on the visual satisfaction....I vape as soon as my alarm goes off....dark room..I grab the mod....vape..exhale...vape...exhale...getting more awake...vape..exhale....now I can get up

Go to the bathroom

Get the water hot in the shower as I vape and see the cloud...hmmm...satisfaction from the visual...but in bed...satisfied but not visually..Yes you are right the visual is much more satisfying but the NIC is why I vape not the lung rush usually experienced by the (smoke) or now vapor experience....interesting thought OP...

I'm glad to see I'm not the only person who notices a marked difference. Oh I do vape in a darkened room quite a bit...at night when I lie down, little iPad mini streaming re-runs of Family guy. But having lied there in complete darkness with nothing to illuminate the vapor beside the OLED display - that one bit of sensory depravation kind of ruined the whole thing for me. Well at least with the lights off.

Hey, bought my first Kayfun today (at the oft-recommendation of Adriana...thank you darling!) and I love it. But back on topic...

I don't really think I'd continue to vape as I do now unless I could convince my wife to watch dozens of hours of youtube videos and be willing to rebuild my stuff, reload my stuff, and at minimum buy my juice for me. I suppose I could figure out Microsoft's Ease of Access and be able to use the computer to buy liquid, batteries, etc. But fiddling with builds or filling tanks..fa get a baht it.

Dougie...I knew you were razzing me and while I'm never going to conform to political correctness, I also never want to disregard another's emotions and how my words can affect them. Still, I also recognize we all have sensitivities and there is no way to avoid them all. But if I ever lose my sight, please refer to me as Robert, or you over there with the stick, or @#$%&^, or even blind dude. Just don't ignore me, I may need you to fill my tank.

Thanks for all the input everyone, very interesting.

I had a blind roommate who smoked. He lost his vision and both eyes due to cancer as a child.

He was so highly functional, I would often forget he was blind. (There was stupid me holding the phone out to him, like he could see it)

Wow! Thanks for sharing. Now I know.

SthrnCelt, I think we're on the same page about political correctness. :toast:
